About This Event

What is loving kindness (metta) and how do we practice it? Find out when you join us for the first Open Practice Weekend of 2019! This silent weekend of deep practice, with the theme of metta, explores how to consciously cultivate loving kindness for oneself, others and the world.

Open Practice Weekends provide an opportunity for beginning and experienced meditators to deepen in meditation practice, explore the natural beauty of the seasons of Wonderwell, and connect with teachers-in-residence for personal guidance.

Noble silence is observed from 8 pm Friday through 8 am Sunday, with the exception of private dharma meetings with the teacher (sign-up available at registration) and structured exercises (such as Q and A). The daily practice schedule can be found below.

The rate on these weekends is as low as possible to allow everyone to attend. Natural Dharma Fellowship Members receive a 50% rate reduction for Open Practice weekends.  The weekend includes vegetarian meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including access to kitchen staples, teas, and snacks.

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
