Sivananda Yoga Ranch
The Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch was founded in 1974 by Swami Vishnudevananda of southern India, for the practice of Yoga and the study of Vedanta. It is nestled in the beautiful rolling Catskill Mountains, just 100 miles outside New York City. It is an ashram within the international Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers, one of the largest Yoga organizations in the world. Swami Vishnu’s vision is still very much alive today and the organization he founded in 1969 has trained more than 30,000 Yoga teachers to date. Deeply-rooted in classical Yoga and Vedanta, and secluded in the natural Catskill beauty, the Yoga Ranch is a peaceful haven to relax, rejuvenate, and explore the depths of spirit. -
Swami Paramananda
Swami Paramananda, manager of the Sivananda Yoga Ranch, has been dedicated to the practices of Yoga for nearly a decade. Through his intense devotion to Yoga and his great sense of humor, Swami Paramananda is a wonderful teacher who effortlessly weaves classical yoga teachings into today’s modern lifestyle. -
Shakti
Shakti has been a teacher and volunteer with the Sivananda organization for the past four years. She started her yoga path with Sivananda teachers in her home country of Colombia. She then moved to India where she served as staff in both the Neyyar and Madurai ashrams in southern India. She has been a dedicated Sivananda yoga practitioner, a yoga teacher since 2011 and has taught and assisted in several of Sivananda teacher’s training courses. Currently she is staff at the New York Center in Manhattan where she shares her knowledge, experience and enthusiasm for yoga with the community there.
