About us

DECODING MOTION movement research and development project is coming to Thailand.

After giving trainings all over the world, Decoding Motion movement research and development project will have a full 5 day movement training retreat in an exotic island in Thailand.

We will learn how to develop our own movement intelligence using different exercises and techniques practiced and inspired from different disciplines, mainly from the worlds of martial arts, contemporary dance, contact improvisation and soft acrobatics. We will find and explore the connections and interfaces these disciplines share between them.

We will practice and learn different principles and techniques of martial arts, floor work and soft acrobatics and explore how they can all be merged together in order to achieve more freedom, flow and esthetics in our movement.

Decoding Motion Thailand intensive retreat 25.2-1.3.19

This pinnacle event of the Decoding Motion movement research and development project will be a 5 day intensive movement intelligence training program that will allow the participants plenty of time to learn, practice and reflect about the concepts, ideas, techniques and exercises presented to them, in order to understand how they can apply all these into a real and solid practice.

Apart from the ideas and concepts, we will have plenty of time to train thoroughly the different fundamentals of the techniques I will present in the event. The main focus will be on: contemporary dance and contact improvisation, soft acrobatics, martial arts and breathwork as the base for all movement training.

The event will include a couple of my most dear collaborators for the project and master teachers that will join us and will share their wisdom and experience.

Ms Vega Luukkonen - world renounce contact improv queen and master teacher and dancer will teach contact impro fundamentals and techniques. Vega's classes are known to be the pinnacle contact teaching right now in the world and I am proud and excited to have her on our team for this retreat.

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

After participating in more yoga classes and events this year than in my entire life, I am yearning for the opportunity to attend a professional retreat. The opportunity to grow my practice, learn from talented students and teachers, and immerse myself in this gorgeous Red Feather Lakes sanctuary is the dream of a lifetime! Sara
