About This Event
This 14 day expedition builds on the excitement, profundity and healing of the seven or ten day Amazon Ayahuasca Adventures.
Starting in the highland city of Cusco, you’ll see and learn about Inca Empire, explore Aguas Calientes, soak in mineral-rich hot springs and watch the sunrise from magical Machu Picchu. You will have the opportunity to experience an energetically uplifting San Pedro (Huachuma) ceremony with a reputable female shaman, during which you can come to know the effects of the San Pedro mezcal cactus. The San Pedro cactus, Huachuma, is a visionary teacher plant that has been used by traditional shamans in the Peruvian Andes dating back at least 3500 years, according to stone carvings found in the Jaguar Temple of Chavin de Huantar.
After your scenic visit to Cusco, Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu, travel by air to the bustling jungle town of Iquitos. Local flights are included. Known as one of Lonely Planet’s top 10 cities to see (2011), Iquitos has a flare that’s difficult to describe. It’s manic, busy, loud and kind of dirty. But, at the same it’s real, raw, friendly and beautiful. This is where we launch you into the breathtaking Amazon jungle and mighty Amazon River, voted one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Meet some iconic jungle creatures up close and personal, such as sloths, monkeys, alligators, tree frogs, tarantulas, freshwater dolphins, parrots, and much more. You can even play a game of soccer with the locals in Puerto Miguel, a small river village in the Pacaya Samiria Nature Reserve (2.2 million hectares in size!)
From Iquitos you will travel by road and river to the remote site of our Ayahuasca Adventure Center located in the buffer zone between the Pacaya Samiria and the Yarapa nature reserves. A facility like no other in existence, the Ayahuasca Adventure Center integrates natural therapy and jungle adventures with your ayahuasca healing experience. We are the center who didn’t forget to include fun! In fact, we GUARANTEE that you won’t be sitting around bored, waiting for your next ceremony. You’ll be engaged with the rivers and rainforests around the largest nature reserve in Peru, which enhances your Ayahuasca healing experience by bringing closer to your natural roots and connecting you with the flow of nature.
In addition, we’ve integrated another natural psychedelic medicine into the Ayahuasca Adventure Center: kambo (sapo), an indigenous medicine made from the secretion of the philamedusa bicolor, also known as the Monkey Frog. By commencing your psychedelic healing experience with this medicine, you cleanse your system and become more open to the ayahuasca healing experience and more connected to nature, which is why you came all the way to the jungle!
