Agora : psychedelic therapy reunion (sold out)

About us

This is an event directed at different sorts of mental health practitioners interested in new frontier of psychedelic therapy. You may already be working yourself in alternative/ underground therapy context in countries where psychoactive plant medicine is something new or still forbidden. You might be interested in studying it as a part of research project, or connecting with deeper roots in where it originated from, but at the same time in open environment, open for experiments, for bridgemaking, for finding a new path that honours tradition and most of all its universal aspects such as connection to nature and widened perspective on human psyche encompassing the environment, but is adapted to modernity and adapted to cultures from where the patients come from.

These are 8 days of interchange of experiences, trying out new techniques, seeing modern practitioners and experienced traditional shamans in action, all set in beautiful wild nature, that we believe is essential part of effective therapy for detached and alienated modern man. Last but not least it is your own practice and autotherapy, deep immersion in own psyche that not only permits resolving own issues and therefore creating more stable platform for serving patients, but also developing more empathy, based on understanding of one's own dark side.

We include all transfers from Iquitos airport, full board and acomodation as well as intense program of 4 ayahuasca ceremonies. Afterwards, for those with less time constraints there may be possibility of staying longer, either in form of rest and integration, or further study/research/volunteer opportunities during ongoing retreats.

Event is led by founders of medicinal camp and Psychonauta Foundation, Swiatoslaw Wojtkowiak and Blazej Czwojdzinski. A wide range of experiences in intertwined fields of spirituality, psychotherapy, sociology and anthropology has helped them to be creators of a project of bridgemaking to seemingly distant and exotic culture, and yet in practice making real change in lives of modern humans. These culture is represented by a tried, strong crew of traditional healers from Shipibo tribe we have been working with for years.

We are setting the price very modestly considering local conditions, amount of work and crew involved and we still hope to invest part of the profit into projects such as donation based ceremonies for local Andean population that Psychonauta Foundation is involved with. The fee is 500 USD, but if you can support our work and are able to donate more, it will be appreciated.

This is a genuine and caring community of people with deep knowledge of medicine, man, and nature. Beautifully situated in both the jungle and in the mountains they work closely with the locals and the land. My stay was very healing, and not the least tremendously fun! I wholeheartedly recommend anyone who are looking for real transformation to check it out, and also consider a longer stay. Dabao Lu

Venue Highlights

We realize our dream, living and working in the deep Amazon forest, near plants, close to nature, close to the local healers' community. We deeply believe in the power of medicine. We came to this piece of land in 2015, slowly and prudently built houses and infrastructure, so as to least interfere with the forest we found at the beginning. We designed the whole resort with the idea of deep work with plants during diets in the shipibo tradition.

All our guests during diets are accommodated in single-person wooden houses equipped with a mattress, hammock and mosquito net. In the resort there are two large communal houses in which live shamans and guides, and there is a shared space where workshops and ceremonies take place, kitchen available for everyone, ecological shower and shared toilet. We do not use electric generators for gasoline, we collect electricity from the solar panel. We collect water for washing and bathing from rain, we take drinking water from deep well and filter it with a specialized filter. We try to live as close to nature as possible, without disturbing its rhythm.

Our center is located in Peru, near Nauta, on a 24 hectare plot of wild Amazonian forest, 2 kilometers away from the Maranon River. It is best to fly to Iquitos in the Loreto region and then continue by car, taxi or public transport on route number 103. From Nauta you can reach the resort on foot in about 40 minutes. Usually, we pick up our clients from the airport or main square in Iquitos and provide a private transfer to our resort. So you do not have to worry about how to reach us, our carers will pick you up from a previously agreed, easy to find place.
