Reconnect with your creativity on an immersive retreat combining mindfulness, movement, voice, and creative music-making, held in a stunning manor house on a working farm in rural Portugal.

Led by expert arts facilitators, this inspiring retreat balances led group activities, one-on-one lessons, and time for reflection and rest, all within a supportive community. Release tension through movement and mindfulness sessions. Rediscover play, exploration, and creativity through voice and collaborative music-making sessions. Yoga holiday Made to feel so welcome by hosts, Torsten and Keith and their team of staff . They are, wonderfully inventive cooks (they grow all their own veg) and their villa was both homely and spacious, clean and comfortable. You can wak straight out into surrounding mountains and woodland or relax by the pool inbetween yoga classes. Loction is very peaceful (no barking dogs at night). The group I was with and I were spoiled (contact info blocked) delicious home made and some home grown food and drink, delicious recipes and all in a beautiful location.  They are still working on the villa and its surrounding buildings and grounds but, the way it looks and feels is a testament to their dedication and devotion to creating a relaxing space in which to meditate and do yoga. The barn (pictured above) and by the pool were fantastic places to be.  All diets were covered - I marvelled at the vegetables I was eating (they succeeded where others had failed). Inside, each room had its own ensuite bathroom and each was comfortably furnished. I was sad to leave but, I hope to get back there in the future and look forward to seeing more of the refurbishments they've made. The retreat was easy to get to as the center organised a transfer for us from Lisbon airport at a cost of only 40 euros return. There were 16 of us going and when we arrived we were all impressed with how beautiful and peaceful the location was. The old manor house is beautifully restored, really comfortable accomodation. There's a lovely pool and lots of quiet places you can read or relax aswell as communal areas to congregate and socialise. The food was vegetarian and really excellent, the hosts really looked after us and made us welcome. A barn has been converted to be the yoga studio. It was really fantastic and I'm hoping to get the chance to go again. Venue Highlights

Set in a rural valley surrounded by eucalyptus forest plantation, just think of being located on a farm. The venue consists of the main Manor house (over 100 years old), shaded courtyard garden for al-fresco eating, herb & flower garden, vegetable garden, orchard, Yoga hall, swimming pool, ruins in a secluded valley. Perfect setting for your exclusive group retreat in rural central Portugal where mainstream tourism doesn't exist yet.

Here at Brejo in the middle of the peaceful mountainous region of central Portugal, where we still collect spring water to drink from free public springs, bath in mineral water direct from the earth, swim in rivers and lakes and walk through manned forests, where you see no other person.

PS: we have 3 mountain bikes you can use for free to venture into the forest

Accommodations

There are seven furnished bedrooms, which we simply number as bedroom 1 to 7. Each room is individually styled with different colour schemes and have original features such as wood panelled ceilings, wooden shutters, chandeliers and polished wood floors on the 1st floor. The ground floor bedroom and bathroom have tiled floors. In total our 7 bedrooms can sleep maximum 17 people in total.

Bedroom 7 on the ground floor has 3 single beds and is the only bedroom which is not en-suite. Its bathroom is about 8 meters away and has two toilets, two basins and two showers, which can also be used by the entire group during the daytime as toilets on the ground floor.

The studio apartment (Bedroom 6) has a double bed and consists of a double bedroom, office room and en-suite with bath, washbasin and toilet.
Bedroom 5: consists of two separate rooms, but you have to walk through bedroom 5A to get to the en-suite on the right and bedroom 5B on the left. There is 1 single bed in room 5A and two single beds in room 5B. The Juliet balcony is in bedroom 5A

Bedroom 4 has 3 single beds with Juliet balcony and en-suite bathroom.

Menu/Cuisine

A typical list of Veg we grow includes: Tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, lettuce, courgettes, aubergines, pumpkins and squashes, normal and sweet potatoes, Beetroot, Spinach, Green-, Red- and Pedrao peppers, Cape gooseberries, Chillies and other veggies you might not have encountered before like Celery bulb, Kohlrabi, Jerusalem Artichokes, etc

Herbs: Basil, 2 x Thyme, 3 x Mint, Rosemary, Sage, Oregano, Marjoram, Stevia, Lemon grass, Lemon Balm, Lemon Verbena, Ginger and Fennel. We use some of these to make tea infusions, including Tilia blossom, (from the trees in our courtyard), and Olive leave for green tea while the other herbs will be found in our daily freshly prepared food.

Once you register an interest we will discuss our menu with you in more detail, but in essence we typically do brunch and dinner, to fit in with the typical 2 Yoga sessions per day, but if you do not do Yoga or want 3 meals a day instead, we can supply it too. Brunch consists normally of:

Fresh fruit salad, muesli with home made yoghurt and Kefir, followed by a baked dish like Greek Spinach pie, Salad, 3 x tea infusions and a cold drink like home made organic long life orange juice.

Our afternoon cake is of course freshly made each day, served with tea infusions, many of which we grew ourselves.

We alternate our 2 course dinners; (day 1: starter and main course, day 2: main course and dessert, etc.) The main is a warm dish, 2 x salads, 3 tea infusions, while dessert are sometimes a healthy option like home made vegan 'ice cream', or a naughty treat like our 70% chocolate mousse. We serve various raw and vegan dishes in our standard vegetarian menu, please let us know if you require Vegan only before your group arrives, as we need to adjust the menu and go on-line shopping, which requires a lot of time for delivery to Portugal.

The last evening is usually BBQ with either pure vegetarian, or we can add Portuguese sardines if your group eats fish too.

Then, we 'grow' 4 varieties of Yogurts, to serve with breakfast with fresh fruit salad, and milk Kefir for probiotics. Then we also make our own: Water-Kefir and Pear-ale, (both flavoured with ginger) and Lemon squash, and elderflower syrup which all make a refreshing cold drink. We also grow Kombucha to provide yet another healthy drink for our guests, who wish to fill their gut with all the good bacteria required for building a healthy immune system. Mung bean sprouts, soaked raw oaks, raw gazpacho soup and smoothies helps to eat healthy raw food without thinking about it. In addition, we make and serve plenty of fermented raw foods. The home-made bread is made from sour-dough we grow and 'Herman' ; our culture is now 5 years old and have offspring all over the world already. We gladly gift this culture to any guest who is interested in baking their own sour-dough bread. Raw, dried figs snacks are free for those who like to nibble between meals and afternoon cakes.
