About This Event

When we are talking about demons, we are not talking about ghosts or goblins but our fears, obsessions, a difficult relationship, self-hatred, anything that blocks our inner freedom.  We tend to fight our demons, but the harder we fight them, the stronger they become. If we want to liberate ourselves from the fight, we must reverse our approach and nurture our demons.  Following this paradigm – rather nurturing than fighting – Lama Tsültrim Allione adepted the revolutionary wisdom of Tibet’s great female spiritual master Machig Labdrön, an eleventh-century Tibetan Yogini, providing a powerful method for coping with the inner enemies that undermine our best intentions.

With Feeding your Demons (FYD) Lama Tsültrim Allione created a psychological five-step practice based on the ancient Chöd lineage of Machig Labdrön. She has taken a great and relatively unknown ancient lineage of practice and rendered it into accessible modern form without compromising its essence or losing its power. Machig’s strategy of nurturing rather than battling our inner and outer enemies offers a revolutionary path to resolve conflict that leads to psychological integration and inner peace.

In this weekend you will learn doing he five steps, go deeper in the background of FYD and will in future have a possibility to meet your demons and to liberate them step by step.

This event will be taught in German.

"One cannot force or grasp a spiritual experience, because it is as delicate as the whisper of the wind." - Lama Tsultrim Allione.

Venue Highlights

Bordered by the San Juan National Forest and Southern Ute Tribal Land, Tara Mandala Retreat Center is on 700-acres of rolling hills and meadows adorned with many varieties of wildflowers, ponds, and forests. The land itself is a mandala with a stunning peak in the middle surrounded by four valleys. Retreat cabins are scattered across the landscape designed for deep retreat, and at its heart, is the extraordinary three-story Tara temple which celebrates the sacred feminine. The center has a Community Building, where residents and retreatants convene for meals, and other activities.

Accommodations

Tara Mandala offers a large residence hall (Prajna Residence Hall) for luxurious accommodations. Rooms have single or double beds. Private or shared bathrooms are available. Toiletries and towels are not supplied, so it is recommended that retreatants please bring their own. Retreatants can stay in one of our two Dorm Yurts. These yurts house 8-10 beds. We also offer a large camp-ground, for those who want to get back to nature for their retreat accommodation. For those who are camping and staying in yurts, showers are available in the Community Building, a short walk away. There are plenty of cubicles in the bathrooms to store your toiletries and personal belongings.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with myself after a very crazy few months with a new baby! Just having that feeling of being grounded again. But also having an opportunity to connect with new amazing people. Getting exposed and Inspired by new (to me) yoga instructors (and community). Being in the presence of real, authentic and raw emotion (the whole spectrum).. So many reasons! Alyson

Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
