Herbal Medicine and Shamanism Course

ScheduleDaily meeting at the temple for the morning meditation starting at 7 am followed by some physical activities and Prana Yama.
Theoretical classes start every morning after breakfast, while in the afternoon we organize practical work with the plants, lab practice, forest trips or we have some creative workshop all together.
Cacao ceremonies and other sacred ceremonies are led once per week.

Duration: 15 days (Available all year round)Location: Portugal, EuropeOverview: An intensive introduction to herbal medicine and self-healing passing through the traditions of ancestral medicine and ethnobotany. The second part of the program is focused on Shamanic techniques, Sound healing and herbal preparations with practical workshops and activities. The aim of the internship is to transmit the knowledge and right intentions for preparing the individual for further inner work with the guidance of plants and sounds accordingly to the indigenous rituals and traditions of herbalism. A unique opportunity to embrace the work with plants with playfulness and wisdom.Program: Morning meditation and Prana Yama are held every day for about one hour, followed by physical activity (qi-gong, yoga flow, African dance etc), theoretical lessons and practical experience, forest trips for collecting plants, Mayan neurosacral massage course, cacao ceremonies (once per week), rituals and creative arts. Theoretical classes (44 h) are normally held in the morning while the practical work (36 h) in the afternoon.Food: mainly vegetarian, fermented and delicious home-made food.Accommodation: nice, private wooden riverfront house with shared room and en-suite bathroomFacilities: ceremonial and meditation space, access to the river, outdoor pool, amphtheatre,forest paths, gardens, a lab for processing plants, retreat space.

Menu/CuisineDelicious home-made food, vegetarian and organic. All produce comes from our neughbours' land and we love to bake our bread and use the clay oven for many dishes. On request we prepare only vegan, no gluten or we follow your indications for a tailor made diet.
Generally we bring the medicinal value of food at our table, choosing a nutritionally balanced meal each time and a selection of herbs, seeds and mushrooms from our gardens or the close forest. And absolutely we mix all the ingredients with love and dedication.
