About This Event

Bush to Beach Yoga Holiday

Do yoga alongside the “big five” and discover inspiration in a Gaudi-esque handcrafted treehouse tower on this Luxury Kenya Safari! For our first of two locations, we invite you to stay at an award-winning eco-lodge in a UNESCO World Heritage conservancy with amazing game drives and sumptuous organic farm-to-table cuisine served by an unparalleled staff. Then, we travel to the white sand beaches and tropical waters of Kenya’s coast, where we stay in a wildly unique boutique guesthouse, built with love and in perfect synergy with nature.

FLOW OF THE DAY

MORNING

Whilst we are on safari at Sirikoi, we’ll be awoken each morning to the sounds of the African bush, and at first light we’ll depart on our private Big 5 jeep safari drive. We return to the palatial Sirikoi grounds to savour a breakfast, followed by time to relax by the pool, or order a massage in your suite.

At Watamu Treehouse, on the coast, we meet the sunrise in the yoga studio for a beautifully blended Hatha-Vinyasa yoga class with Nina, followed by sumptuous and nutritious breakfast in one of the many Treehouse dining areas.

AFTERNOON

Sit down to a lunch of mouthwatering salads, soups and other healthy, organic and nutrient-filled delights. On safari at Sirikoi, we’ll start our Hatha-Vinyasa yoga class with Nina on a private deck overlooking a wildlife watering-hole around mid-afternoon. Spot elephant, wildebeest and zebra as you enjoy your yoga session!

At Watamu Treehouse, our afternoon will be spent in nature, kayaking, swimming and soaking up the sun on the white-sand tropical beach, or simply enjoying the view with a good book, or in the Treehouse massage and pedicure room!

EVENING

Sunset on safari is a wonderful time to spot big African game, and so we will depart on our evening jeep drive. We stop for an African tradition – a sundowner – to toast the day and share in awe over the technicolour expanse of the African sky as day bleeds into night. We return to the lodge to freshen up, and then enjoy a magical evening dining al fresco – under a blanket of stars!

SIRIKOI SAFARI LODGE

You are invited to a multi-award-winning eco-lodge with unrivalled exclusivity, luxury and charm. Sirikoi is an intimate, family-owned safari lodge set in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lewa Conservancy, in the foothills of Mount Kenya. The World Travel Awards has named Sirikoi Africa’s Leading Luxury Lodge for three years running. Sirikoi lodge is sustainable, sumptuous, and exotic, with an old-world feel and exceptional service. You can anticipate a swimming pool, rolling green lawns, favored by zebra, giraffe and buffalo, on-site massage, and organic permaculture gardens, with more than 80 varieties of fruits and vegetables grown year-round.

WATAMU TREEHOUSE

Each suite is unique and every corner of the tower is a sight to behold. Wake up to the sound of tropical birdlife and drift to sleep with a view of the sparkling African sky. Spend your afternoons engaging in the exciting range of gentle adventures of offer, from kayaking, snorkelling in the protected marine reserve just off-shore, or join us for a Standup Paddle Board yoga session on a creek through the mangroves.

YOGA & MEDITATION

Well-traveled nomad, Nina Butler, weaves breath, strength, flexibility and awareness into a moving meditation that accommodates beginners and advanced practitioners. While her practice is strong, her teaching is sensitive and heart-oriented, supporting students to move within their personal pace and rhythm. Nina also shares mindfulness practices, meditations, and soul-soothing yin sessions to cultivate the perfect balance on your retreat between uplifting flow, and introspective restoration.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

It would my first vacation in the mountains. I think getting away and beginning a new routine would be good for me and a friend. Dianne
