About This Event
The Four Immeasurables are the sublime expressions of love, compassion, equanimity, and joy. They are the essential nature and radiance of the enlightened heart. It is said that these sublime qualities are the great removers of tension, the great peacemakers in social conflict, and the great healers of wounds suffered in the struggle of existence.
During this retreat, Drubpön Lama Karma will provide supportive instruction on the Four Immeasurables as an essential part of mind training. Since these practices may be difficult for some in the beginning, participants will be encouraged to start by extending the practice to their loved ones, and then gradually to their friends and relatives, eventually including all living beings as well as those with whom we may find the practice especially challenging.
This retreat is open to all.
Suggested Dana: $240 – $300
"One cannot force or grasp a spiritual experience, because it is as delicate as the whisper of the wind." - Lama Tsultrim Allione.
Venue HighlightsBordered by the San Juan National Forest and Southern Ute Tribal Land, Tara Mandala Retreat Center is on 700-acres of rolling hills and meadows adorned with many varieties of wildflowers, ponds, and forests. The land itself is a mandala with a stunning peak in the middle surrounded by four valleys. Retreat cabins are scattered across the landscape designed for deep retreat, and at its heart, is the extraordinary three-story Tara temple which celebrates the sacred feminine. The center has a Community Building, where residents and retreatants convene for meals, and other activities.
AccommodationsTara Mandala offers a large residence hall (Prajna Residence Hall) for luxurious accommodations. Rooms have single or double beds. Private or shared bathrooms are available. Toiletries and towels are not supplied, so it is recommended that retreatants please bring their own. Retreatants can stay in one of our two Dorm Yurts. These yurts house 8-10 beds. We also offer a large camp-ground, for those who want to get back to nature for their retreat accommodation. For those who are camping and staying in yurts, showers are available in the Community Building, a short walk away. There are plenty of cubicles in the bathrooms to store your toiletries and personal belongings.
