Dinner will be Buffet style under the African stars. Get a good night’s sleep as tomorrow calls for an early start for a game drive to Etosha National Park.

Day 3
After a healthy breakfast we will meet with an experienced guide that will take us to Etosha National Park. It is home to hundreds of species of mammals, birds and reptiles, including several threatened and endangered species such as the black rhinoceros. Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Cheetah, Wildebeest, Giraffe, Hyena, Zebra, Springbok, Kudu, Gemsbok and Eland are common in the park which make game viewing in Etosha a unique experience.

Returning to Etosha Village for lunch, relax for the rest of the day, before meeting for an early afternoon yoga session. The yoga sessions will be longer due to not having yoga this morning. Embrace yourself for a late afternoon sunset drive to experience breath-taking views of the Mopane Forests.

Day 4
After a calming yoga practice, followed by breakfast, we will head to Etosha National Park. Relax at a nearby lodge for lunch, before heading back to Etosha Village for yet another mindful yoga session in nature. After dinner, we will head to the neighboring lodge for live African music…

Etosha National Park is incredible and if the game viewing itself is not impressive enough, the Etosha Pan definitely is, as it is even visible from space. Let that be an indicator as to it’s sheer size. It is believed to have formed millions of years ago for the first time. As long as 16,000 years ago, the Kunene River flowed from Angola into Namibia and all the way down to Etosha, where a huge lake formed for a long time. But due to earth movements the river changed course and resulted in it ending in the Atlantic Ocean instead. As the lake slowly dried up this left the salt pan behind.

The Etosha Pan covers a quarter of the entire area of the Etosha National Park and is known to be 130km long and up to 50km’s wide in certain parts, which makes this the largest salt pan in Africa.

Whilst the Owambo people named Etosha, translated as “great white place”, the San people believed that the pan resulted from a tale of a small village in the area being raided and all were killed except from the woman. One woman was so heartbroken at the loss of her family, that she cried until her tears formed a lake, and when eventually this dried this caused the pan to form from the salt of her tears.

Despite the fact that this dry pan takes up a large portion of the park, this area is thriving with wildlife as the remaining areas are comprised of bush and open plains. Numerous waterholes are found throughout the park and these provide the much-needed water to the animals, especially during the dry season. As the area is mostly sparse, the animals have adapted to drink during the heat of the day when predators are mostly inactive, making it safe for them to venture out into the open and congregate at waterholes.

This game park is unlike any other and photographs of animals in front of the pan make this very unique and a special place to visit. It boasts an impressive offer of over 114 species of mammals and 340 species of birds.

Day 5 & 6

Lodging: Gocheganas Nature Reserve
Accommodation: Twin Rooms
Includes: All meals
Activities: Yoga, Meditation, 1x Full body massage
Optional activities: Guided Nature Trails, Game Drives, SPA Treatments

Day 5
After yoga, we will have breakfast and make our way to Gocheganas Private Nature Reserve where we will be treating ourselves at the Spa for the next 2 days. The drive is about 5 hours and we should arrive around lunch time.

After lunch enjoy a much needed massage and If needed, spend some more time at the Spa or go on an optional afternoon game drive.

Day 6
Tomorrow morning we will have another sunrise yoga overlooking the stunning scenery that Gocheganas offers. The rest of the day you can either relax at the pool or go on an optional activity. Admire 25 different large game species roaming the 6000 hectare Nature Reserve, including Rhino, Bat-eared Fox, Giraffe, Mountain- and Plains Zebra, Cheetah, jackal and Leopard, Blue- and Black Wildebeest, Eland, Oryx, Red Hartebeest, Kudu, Springbok, Waterbuck, Steenbok, Duiker, Klipspringer, Ostrich and Warthog. A fascinating variety of birds are spreaded over the Reserve and can be spotted at the Wellness Village, as well as at the surrounding water places.

Enjoy your last dinner surrounded by the sounds and beauty of nature.

Day 7
Our last sunrise yoga session…
Depending on flight departure times, you can either relax at Gocheganas after breakfast or go curio shopping in Windhoek. Not only will it be a memorable drive back to the airport, but an unforgettable trip never to be forgotten...
