About This Event

Join us at the peaceful Casa San Carlos Retreat Center in Delray Beach, Florida. During this Retreat we will practice: 

Mindfulness Meditation—develop the skill of non-judgmental awareness, gain clarity of  mind and a sense of ease through this healing and grounding practice.  Each day con sists of a Dharma talk, and plenty of opportunity to practice seated, walking and eating  meditation. Retreat is be held in Noble Silence beginning Fri. 6pm ending Wednesday at  2 pm.  Beginners and experienced meditators are welcome.

Gentle Yoga/Mindful Movement—journey through body,  mind & heart through a         sequence of Gentle Yoga poses. Learn to connect breath with movement.

Compassion and Loving Kindness—Living in todays world is challenging. Cultivating the  ability to stay present and open-hearted is essential to maintain healthy relationships  with ourselves, others and all beings.

Event Highlights

  • Come experience the healing benefits of the transformational practice of Mindfulness and Compassion Meditation. During retreat, we will practice seated, walking and eating meditation.
  • Meet with our experienced Meditation Teachers to support and deepen your practice. Several Meetings are scheduled, every day, during the duration of the retreat.
  • Practice Mindful Movement as an embodied approach to mindfulness meditation. This practice helps you develop awareness of what you carry in your body and how to attend to it in a mindful and compassionate way. You will led through a series of yoga poses by our experienced and compassionate Registered Yoga Teacher, Nicole Davis.
  • Experience the healing energy of Sound Healing. During this retreat, Ivonne Hernandez, Registered Yoga Teacher and Sound Healer will conduct sound healing using Crystal Bowls, Tibetan Bowls, Gong and other melodious instruments to alleviate stress and encourage relaxation.

Schedule

Each day will consist of a hot, homemade Breakfast at 7:30pm.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner is followed by alternating periods of seated and walking meditation. Some of these sessions will have basic meditation instruction.

There will also be a daily gentle/Mindful movement class.

Support meetings with the Mindfulness Teachers will be provided with a sign up sheet. These meetings will be available each day of the retreat and are meant to support you in deepening your experience and knowledge of Mindfulness Meditation. A talk related to the practice of Meditation and Compassion will be held daily in the afternoon and evening.

Venue Highlights

The Retreat Center is located in a peaceful area of Delray Beach, Florida. It is a beautiful, peaceful center, with lush gardens, an outside pond and outdoor seating areas where you can contemplate, meditate or just relax. Our past retreatants have expressed a deep appreciation for the location, staff and beautiful surroundings that helped make the retreat a welcoming place away from home.

Accommodations

The rooms are equipped with 1 twin bed and 1 full size bed. There are two types of accomodation; shared room with shared bath and a private room with a private bath. The rooms are spacious, clean and lovely.

Menu/Cuisine

The food at the retreat is made onsite and prepared by professional caterer's, customized to our specifications. The meals are vegetarian and they are one of many highlights of this retreat. They are wholesome and delicious. We also provide snacks, tea, coffee, juices and a variety of fresh fruit and organic cookies.

Directions

The closest airport is Palm Beach Airport and it's approximately 30 minutes away from the retreat center. You may also choose to fly into Ft. Lauderdale Airport, which is approximately 40 minutes away, depending on time of day and traffic. You can take an Uber or Lyft and the cost of that is about $30 from Palm Beach Airport to the retreat center or $38.00 from Ft. Lauderdale Airport.
