Five-Night Silent Retreat: Oct. 2019
About This Event
Exploring and practicing the foundational teachings of Mindfulness in a 5-night silent residential retreat. Led by certified MBSR and Mindfulness Teachers Beth Mulligan and Brandon Nappi.
Co-sponsored by the UMASS Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society and filling the retreat prerequisite for Oasis Trainings.
Silent retreat practice is a vital way to nourish our personal meditation practice, which is life-enhancing for everyone and particularly important for those who work with mindfulness-based interventions. This retreat is an opportunity to renew and deepen your practice of mindfulness meditation and living fully. The retreat will follow a rigorous traditional retreat schedule, held in silence, in a supportive and beautiful environment, enhanced by silence with experienced teachers. Join us for the beautiful fall colors on 50 wooded acres, an organic garden, trails, and a labyrinth.
Much of our time will be spent engaged in sitting and walking meditation with periods of Mindful Movement. The teachers will offer daily talks, and interviews. Buddhist foundations of MBSR will be highlighted.
Who Should Attend?
This retreat fulfills the prerequisite for Oasis trainings and so is appropriate for anyone on the MBSR teacher training pathway, as well as active Mindfulness teachers and open to anyone interested in the practice of mindfulness in a traditional retreat format.

As always, a delightful evening!. Thoughts: 1. May want to publish an agenda in future. Not wise to be fashionably late. Reports were that the event was in full swing at 6:30 PM and 6:45 arrival felt like we were catching up. 2. Would be wise to provide the wifi information so everyone could connect for the text fundraiser. Verizon worked but several people near me said that they could not connect using ATT. The wifi would allow everyone to connect See you next year!!

The Copper Beech Institute offers a wide variety of courses, meditations, workshops and is housed on a beautiful peace of property. I enjoy the Wednesday Candlelight Meditation as a group or 30-40 of us meet to share this mindful experience and are led by the incredible Miranda who always gives a talk that seems to hit home. This place is filled with such love and kindness. Go check it out!
