About This Event

The lam rim provides a step-by-step guide through all the stages of the path to enlightenment.  This retreat will cover the entire lam rim text and utilize methods from all three scopes of practice.  This will be a traditional Tibetan Buddhist retreat with three sessions per day.  Each session will be two hours and will be split into one hour of teaching and one hour of practice.  Over five days we will cover all three scopes and the practices that support them.  The retreat will be held in noble silence from dawn until the evening tea break with group discussion of the day’s teachings strongly encouraged.

PREREQUISITE: This will be a traditional Tibetan Buddhist retreat and students planning to attend should already be familiar with the practices and have strong desire to develop a deeper understanding of the conventional bodhicitta and ultimate reality philosophies. It would be helpful to have Je Tsong Khapa’s text The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment or Pabongka Rinpoche, Liberation in the Palm of Your Hand.

Check-in will be from 3 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 7th, with dinner following, and the program will end after morning session on Friday, July 12th, with an optional lunch afterwards. There will be three sessions per day with breaks between sessions for practice, hiking or rest. There will be Dharma discussion during dinner.

40% deposit is due upon registration, and final payment is due by June 7th.  The retreat is non-refundable but transferable to another person.

Elohee is an alcohol, children and pet free facility.

Please contact Lynn Woodson at (contact info blocked) if you have any questions about the retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I teach yoga part time and am a mom of two toddlers full time. I love my life, but goodness do I need a break. My husband and I have been putting off our wedding ceremony for 4 years because life has gotten in the way. We haven't had a single night alone since our family has grown. I wouldn't change a thing about our lives now, but it would be so wonderful to remember what it's like to 'just be us.' Antrim

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
