Yoga & Mindfulness Retreat - North Coast Bali
- Having held retreats at this resort for the past five years the staff feel like family and the place feels like a home away from home.
- The balance of structured versus unstructured time encourages people to challenge themselves and in between to rest peacefully as they need to.
- Tim's and Anna's capacity to hold awareness for all students in the yoga studio and outside of it creates a sense of care, respect and spaciousness that just seems to bring out the best in people, year after year.
- Having dedicated themselves to doing their best, having respectfully attended local ceremonies, participated within the local culture to the degree which people are comfortable, students invariably leave this retreat feeling nourished and transformed.

About This Event
..... and this lovely retreat
We are a husband and wife team who have been running retreats in Bali for the past 5 years.
As August approaches we warmly invite you to join us on our 7 day / 6 night Iyengar Yoga and Mindfulness retreat, on the tropical north coast of Bali, away from the hustle and bustle of the usual 'tourist belt'.
Your retreat includes 6 nights accommodation, daily early morning mindfulness sessions, twice daily yoga classes (Asana & Pranayama), all meals (gourmet, gluten-free, no red meat), meaningful engagement with the local culture, complimentary 1.5 hour on-site ‘spa treatment, shuttle transfer to and from Legian or Ubud, and the good company of a diverse group of like minded people.
Do yourself a favour and attend the GCY yoga retreat in Tejakula. Everything about this retreat is wonderful, from the yoga classes, to the accommodation, spa treatments, food and activities offered. It is honestly a highlight of my year. I am already looking forward to returning next year. By the completion of the retreat you feel refreshed, inspired and (contact info blocked) retreat is so good for your soul. Gaia Oasis definitely feels like a home away from home! (Anna C)
Venue HighlightsThe award winning Gaia Oasis Resort - Abasan (means 'mountain') is located in the mountains hugging the north coast. It is nestled in a green sanctuary, spread across lush gardens with spectacular views to the sea, only 5 minutes drive away. As you can read on their website Abasan is described as a place where the earth elements of nature combine with the vitality of rural Bali, to create an environment where you can reconnect and rejuvenate.
The property is owned by a not-for-profit organisation called the Gaia Foundation, which formed almost 30 years ago. The aims of the Gaia Foundation are to work with local authorities and communities on environmental projects with a focus on education, restoration of fish and coral, organic farming, waste separation and plastic recycling. The Foundation also working with villagers, to build alternative livelihoods. Much of the profit made from the commercial arm (Gaia Oasis Resorts) is redirected to help fund this valuable work in the community.
As well as training and employing staff from neighbouring villagers, the resort is located within four farms, so it actually feels like you are living in a village.
AccommodationsDotted throughout the 4 hectare resort are 4 large and 2 smaller Balinese-style bungalows. The larger bungalows have two double rooms each, and the smaller ones are perfect for a couple. The resort also has a guesthouse built into a slope with expansive views. Located close to the salt water pool, it comprises 6 ensuite guestrooms without kitchens and is suitable for those looking for simpler living.
All homes are located at a discreet distance from their neighbours and come with fully-equipped kitchens and open-air bathrooms.
