Meditate in Mexico: a 6 day mindfulness meditation retreat

About This Event

Join Michelle DuVal, MA, and Claudio Barrientos, BA for six days of meditation, yoga, teachings and community in the beautiful Mexican village of Sayulita. Located just about 45 minutes north of Puerto Vallarta, this fishing/surfing village is the perfect place to unplug and reconnect.  Filled with stunning beaches, quirky art and amazing food, Sayulita is the beach town for people who want to relax, experience culture and amazing food, all in a gorgeous ocean + sand paradise.  Our retreat has been lovingly designed by Michelle and Claudio to help you connect back to your own relaxed and at-ease self. Over the course of five days, we will set our focus on deepening our meditation practice, and then bringing it out into the world as we experience Mexico. There will be homemade food and smoothies, some sweaty yoga sessions (optional), in-depth meditations and teachings, all in a gorgeous jungle-beach setting. We’re inviting you to unplug with us in paradise at this beautiful retreat.

In order to keep the experience intimate, our retreats are limited in capacity.

Michelle DuVal, MA, Director of TMC Albuquerque “I am beyond excited to share in this experience with all of you! And believe it or not, my cohost Claudio was also trained by my father years ago, and has since broadened his practice and teachings to Knoxville, TN, where he was the director of TMC, and now to Austin. He is one of the kindest, humblest, and most lovable meditation teachers I’ve ever known, and his depth of training and understanding of the practices is inspiring. To teach by his side is an incredible honor. And we’ve already hosted one of these retreats in Mexico last December….and it was so fantastic we decided to do it again! :)” Claudio Barrientos, BA – Director of TMC Austin “Meditate in Mexico" is more than just an opportunity to travel and step out of the usual routine. During these days of learning, exploring, and practicing meditation, we will learn to sit and befriend our mind, body, and heart. And Michelle has been a life long friend and meditation companion – we’ve literally known each other now for 25 years! Her father was my very first meditation teacher, so to teach with her now feels like coming home. I’m originally from Santiago, Chile, but was raised on the beaches of Southern Spain, where as a young kid I used to sell broken ice cream cones to the tourists. So to also be teaching on the beaches of Mexico feels like a homecoming. Everyone is deeply welcome to join us.”
