About This Event

The Retreat is near Namobuddha Monastery in a place called Phulbari (Flower Garden), about 42 km east of Kathmandu, surrounded by forests and has its own vegetable garden. Fully equipped with a Sadhana hall, a library and residential building that can accommodate up to 30 participants.

Venue Highlights

is constructed using modern rammed earth technology. Based on sustainable building practices and promoting sustainable living, the construction reflects the philosophy of Vishuddhi Alaya, bringing together thoughtful techniques with respect for nature and its purity and beauty.

The retreat is surrounded by forests and has its own vegetable garden as well as fruit and nut tree orchard. The natural peaceful setting is accompanied by breath taking views of the Himalayan range. The Thrangu Tashi Yangtse ('Namobuddha') Monastery, a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery and one of Nepal's holiest pilgrimage sites is a 40 minute footwalk away from the retreat.

The retreat consists of a fully equipped practising hall, a library and residential building.


The retreat consists of a fully equipped residential building that can accommodate up to 30 participants. By using natural colours and materials, the rooms and common areas are designed to enhance tranquillity and peacefulness.


Delicious Nepali vegetarian meals, made from predominantly home grown products and ingredients are served.


Travel from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu takes about 1 ½ hours.
