About This Event

Take a week away from your to-do lists, deadlines, busyness, and the everyday depletion to rejuvenate your energy.

Our Costa Rica retreat will incorporate well-planned, mindful, yet enjoyable yoga sequences that are tailored to improve strength, stability, balance, and functionality, followed by soothing pranayama and meditation. No one-size-fits-all instruction here! Beginners, seasoned practitioners, and everyone in-between will receive the kind of personal attention and instruction that catalyzes personal breakthroughs and supports lasting change. Each morning we will begin with the yoga practice in a beautiful, serene setting, then enjoy different excursions in-site and off-site, and end the day with a chance to slow down in restorative poses, Yoga Nidra and meditation.

Wanjira Njenga is a bodyworker and yoga educator. She has been a student of yoga for over 30 years, and now celebrating her 12th year as a yoga educator in Montreal: (contact info blocked). She originally trained as a Sivananda Teacher in Madurai, India -200hrs then went on to train in the Iyengar Inspired yoga with Hart Lazer, in Montreal – 300hrs. Wanjira continues her training in Therapeutic yoga – currently over 600 hours with various teachers. She is a trained Massage Therapist, Structural Myofascial Release Therapist, Reiki practitioner, Reflexologist and Reflexology teacher. Her yoga classes are unique as she brings a deep understanding of anatomy and alignment into my teaching and hands-on adjustments. Her toolbox is wide and rich!

Wanjira teaches all level of classes – Beginner, Intermediate, Gentle/Restorative, and Therapeutic. She loves teaching yoga in a way that is accessible to all.

“After searching for a good yoga teacher and practice for many years, I finally meet Wanjira Njenga almost 4 years ago, and I can honestly say she is the very best yoga teacher I have ever had. Wanjira is extremely knowledgeable, well learned, and passionate not only in Iyengar yoga, but in the anatomy, the body, and what it needs. (Among many other disciplines). She is only too happy to share her extensive knowledge with all of her students, giving us examples of how to take our practice off of our mats and into everyday life and how to safely practice at home. She even gifts us with a yoga ‘tip of the week’ which is a detailed description and photo or drawing of a yoga pose to better enable us to understand and practice. Safety is something that is always at the forefront of this great teacher’s mind. She is extremely aware of all the students in her classes and their struggles or needs. Wanjira is a natural teacher and always encourages us to ask questions about any of the poses. A good teacher helps you push your boundaries in yoga, but a great teacher helps you awaken in yoga. This is Wanjira Njenga!” -Giovanna Daniele, Student
