Do you seek healing? Do you struggle with gut issues, skin issues or weight issues? Do you often get sick, do you feel sluggish or depressed? 

It may be that you need to take some time off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and invest in yourself with a detox or fasting retreat. 

Fasting is one of the oldest ways of healing. In many religious and spiritual beliefs, it was believed that abstaining from food aids in detoxing and helps to repair damaged cells within the body. Fasting is a great way to release emotional blockages which has been covered up by the constant abuse of comfort eating. 

Here at Kinsapacha we offer you the opportunity to systematically ease into “Intermittent fasting” which is something that can be incorporated into your daily life. We combine the Intermittent fasting method, with healthy vegetarian/vegan meals so you will achieve the personal goals you have whether it is for health or weight loss reasons. 

The 16:8 Method 

The method we use suggests that you fast for 16 hours of the day and within the 8 hour eating window you can eat. It still allows you to eat the normal amount of calories that you would have consumed in your normal day of eating, but it limits the time period that you are allowed to eat. 

For example, if you eat your first meal of the day around 12 noon – you will have 8 hours after that in which you are allowed to eat. It is suggested to eat 2 big meals during this time period, and you can have some fruit snacks in between. But it is very important to consider that your eating period will end at 8pm, which means that you are not allowed to eat anymore after that. Your fasting window starts then from 8pm to 12 noon the next day. 

Intermittent fasting allows you the opportunity to choose when you want your eating period and when you want your fasting period. It really depends on your life style. If you are someone that works a lot in the morning, need to focus and keep concentrated – it may be better for you to have your eating window start later during the day. This is also recommended for someone who prefers eating at night. In this case if you start eating at 2pm, then you will be able to eat until 10pm. 

The benefits of Intermittent Fasting: 

Your body initiates important cellular repair processes and changes hormone levels to make stored body fat more accessible. Blood levels of insulin drop significantly and this also helps with fat burning (especially belly fat). Because of the reduced insulin it will lower your risk of Type 2 Diabetes. Blood levels of the human growth hormone increase which helps with muscle gain. Intermittent fasting reduces inflammation in the body. There are beneficial changes in several genes and molecules related to longevity and protection against disease During your fasted state you will feel more energised as the energy that the body usually uses to digest food is now readily available to you and this aids in higher productivity, clarity of mind and a feeling of “lightness”. 

If you are doing an Intermittent fasting retreat it is recommended to book for 2 weeks to achieve the most benefits and to truly transition into this new way of eating.

10:00 - Morning meditation
12:00 - Break your fast with a green juice followed by lunch.
15:00 - Snack
16:00 - Las Chulpas trail: do an easy 1 hour hike to the ruins and have an amazing view of the sunset over the valley.
19:00 - Dinner

Day 3
08:00 - Tea
10:00 - Tour to Maras salt farms
12:00 - Break your fast with a green juice followed by lunch.
15:00 - Snack
17:30 - Sunset Vinyasa Flow
19:00 - Dinner

Day 4

10:00 - Ayurveda workshop
12:00 - Break your fast with a green juice followed by lunch
15:00 - Snack
17:30 - Sunset Meditation

Day 5

10:00 - Trip to Ollantaytambo for the day where you can do some hikes and explore some Inca ruins. Have a delicious lunch of your choice of the many incredible restaurants. * Lunch cannot be earlier than 12:00.

17:30 - Hip-opening and grounding Yoga flow
19:00 - Dinner

Venue Highlights

Kinsapacha is located in the rural area of Urubamba. It will take you about 20 minutes by foot to town or the closest bus terminal. The town is filled with little local shops, as well as vegetarian & vegan restaurants and the local market where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables from the locals. However, we do have a organic vegetable garden on the property and you are welcome to buy from us - as the retreat includes breakfast and dinner only. We have a communal kitchen available should you be interested in cooking your own lunch. We have a huge, quiet garden with a fire place. The garden offers amazing views as well as lots of natural visitors. Perfect for bird-watchers and animal lovers. WiFi is available in certain areas.


We offer comfortable rooms with private bathroom and hot water. Decorated with recycled items and pieces from local artisans. We have double, triple and family rooms. For travelers who have a lower budget we have dorms of maximum six people with private toilet. We have a communal area with a fireplace inside the main house and another area for making bonfires in the garden. We also have a fully equipped communal kitchen for the more independent travelers and a healthy daily menu for the ones that don’t feel like cooking.
