Venue Highlights

The yoga teacher training program in Rishikesh is conducted in an ashram. The Sri Ved Niketan ashram is blessed with the eternal grace of Vishwa guru, Sri Maha Madaleshwarji, who stayed and meditated there for years and started the culture of yoga in Rishikesh. The sage brought in positive vibes, with yoga and meditation, to the recesses of the ashram. It attracted thousands of yogis to come and find peace in the boundaries of the ashram. Collectively uniting people in the ashram, many people have found themselves on the spiritual path while working or staying here.

Located right on the bank of Ganges with the Himalayan range in the background, the ashram is a pious place with spacious surroundings. Offering a legitimate ashram like view, lifestyle and food choices, Sri Ved Niketan is a gem on the map of Rishikesh. The vastness of the place allows one to choose the surroundings for self-discovery either in silence or by mingling with a group of charged yogis, which may make it a destination worth revisiting when one returns to Rishikesh.

Accommodations

A comfortable abode for seeking souls, the ashram offers a clean, cozy and a refreshing stay in Rishikesh. The rooms are quaint, well maintained in an ashram like set up and come with modern facilities. They are an escape from the demands of the city life.

Ashrams usually represent a return to a simpler way of living, which is very different to a hotel. Generally there is a more communal atmosphere and often an expectation that guests will pitch in with whatever needs doing.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with myself after a very crazy few months with a new baby! Just having that feeling of being grounded again. But also having an opportunity to connect with new amazing people. Getting exposed and Inspired by new (to me) yoga instructors (and community). Being in the presence of real, authentic and raw emotion (the whole spectrum).. So many reasons! Alyson

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
