About This Event
In our "Mindfulness, Meditation and Relationship" group retreats the meditation, following the channel of the 'clear space path', is coupled with teaching which draws on the work of Carl Rogers, Martin Buber and Eugene Gendlin and allows us a vision of ourselves as a human being connected... with ourselves, with others and with our planet.
Each retreat day follows a typical (but not rigid) pattern, which starts with a silent meditation (not obligatory but encouraged) and is followed by breakfast. There is a morning session which includes teaching and practice and, after a break, discussion and a sharing of individual experience and insights. There is a walk after lunch, which can bring another opportunity for practice and exchange. Following our evening meal there is a closing short themed meditation.
Nothing is set in stone at Le Sentier Tranquille and Simon as the facilitator will adjust times and content according to the background and disposition of the group, but as a guide, the days will be arranged along these lines:Day 1 - developing a mindful way of being, training, and practiceDay 2 - listening to ourselves and developing a sense of flowDay 3 - understanding relationship, the insights of Martin BuberDay 4 - meditation as discovery, passage, and direction
And of course there will always be space for your own time.

Venue HighlightsLe Sentier Tranquille is in the foothills of the French Pyrenees Mountains. It is an idyllic location on the edge of a hamlet with hill and forest walking from the gate and offering guided mountain walking as part of some retreats. The centre has ample spaces for individual contemplation, as well areas for group work and exchange, both inside and out. There is a small library for retreat participants, a meditation platform and a smaller covered area for meditation or individual yoga.
AccommodationsAll our rooms are individual and have at least a full-size double bed. Some also have a single bed or can be arranged as twins. There is either a private bathroom for the room or the bathroom is shared with no more than one other room. Toiletries, towels and bath-robes are provided, as well as tea, coffee, infusion facilities.
Menu/CuisineWe provide a continental-style breakfast with cereals, yoghurts, croissants, home-made confitures, fruit. Lunch is usually cold with a main course and dessert. Evening meal is preceded by apéritifs (incl. non-alcoholic) and is usually three courses, typically with a gourmet salad to start, a main course of casserole or tajine (for which a vegetarian option is available on request) and followed by a dessert or cheese.
All ingredients are sourced locally and as far as possible drawn from what is in season.
