Yoga & Conservation Experience

  • Limpopo, South Africa
  • Apr 30 - May 7, 2019 (8 days)

About This Event

So, you’re looking for a yoga holiday and the world wide web has brought you to us. Get ready to get outside the generic box of yoga holidays!

Although generic holidays can be lovely and there’s nothing wrong with lovely — with us you will have the chance to not only do yoga in a beautiful location, but also experience what real conservation efforts are like in South Africa, while putting your yoga into practice — And no, I don’t mean we will be doing downward dog on top the rhinos. There will be none of that!

The Baobab Rhino Conservation Centre (BRCC) are known locally as ‘Mutogomeli’. In the local Venda language this means ‘Guardian’. They act as guardians for the priority species on the conservancy which are under constant attack from organised and professional poachers.

The BBRC run a conservation initiative using the assistance of guest students to improve the knowledge of the reserve, increase the understanding and protection of its flora and fauna while educating students about the real life challenges facing wildlife conservation today.

In addition to daily game drives and getting involved in the conservation efforts at BBRC, you will have a daily yoga practice. You will be practicing yoga in several different ways throughout your stay — vinyasa, yin, pranayama, and meditation — which will focus on self-development and self-realization, and give you the opportunity to connect with this world in a way that you may not have experienced before. In addition, we will be focusing on daily karma yoga.

Get ready to get off the beaten path, get involved, and learn how to take your yoga practice off the mat!
