About This Event
Pachakuti Mesa Tradition Apprenticeship Series
“Pachakuti” means “world reversal” and refers to the time of transformation we are living now. A mesa is an altar for self-exploration, transformation and personal growth in which we create a new paradigm of one’s relation to the Self and the Universe. This tradition, in all its richness, is an evolving practice of inner and outer activities that restore balance and harmony to our relationships with All That Is.
The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition: Cross-Cultural Shamanic Arts for Personal and Planetary Renewal is a five- part series of intensives in the shamanic arts of restoring harmony, health, and earth stewardship. This workshop series aligns the traditional shamanic arts of Peru and the wisdom of its heritage with the needs of the present day, a transformational moment of planetary and human history.
Participants will cultivate a deeper relationship with nature and the unseen world, and receive multiple opportunities for self-exploration, empowerment, and profound personal growth. This apprenticeship series is open to all people who desire to be of service, whether they are long-time mesa carriers or new to this tradition.
Part I: The Call to Heal (Releasing the Past)
This apprenticeship workshop initiates participants into the Pachakuti Mesa, a powerful and sacred altar. Students learn how to create their own mesas and work with them for self-empowerment, transformation, and helping others. Through shamanic journey and visionary states of consciousness, participants will explore the three worlds of the Andean cosmovision, sacred reciprocity with all that is, the core ingredients of ceremonial mastery, sacred sound and ritual language, healing and curanderismo, and the inner world of the ukhupacha.
Part II: A Balance of Power (Transforming the Present)
During this workshop intensive, participants will apprentice in the center of the mesa, traditional Peruvian healing practices, and the kaypacha, the middle world. They will explore the kaypacha’s elemental matrix and magico-spiritual power, and learn about the moon’s presence in the middle world, mapping the cosmos on Earth, and celestial death and rebirth.
Part III: The Condor’s Quest (Creating the Future)
This workshop is an initiation into the paqokuna, the Andean Shaman/Priesthood mystical path, the lineage of the sacred mountains, and the five virtues of the mesa. Participants will also journey to and experience the hanaqpacha, the upper world beyond the physical, work with the unseen world there and deepen their connection to their own spiritual resources.
Part IV: The Hummingbird’s Ascent (Living the Mystery)
In this apprenticeship workshop students will experience the upper world and learn about its lightning bolt of mystical illumination and the flow of kamasqa, the power of Creation. They will work with the elements, the forces of the universe, the body of Mother Earth, and sacred healing objects. In sacred reciprocity participants will create despachos to honor Mother Earth, the sacred mountains, the elements, the unseen world, and prepare for a paqowachu, a sacred pilgrimage.
Part V: The Shamanic Self (Serving the Earth)
This workshop deepens participants’ experience of soul and spirit through ritual process, including the spiritual creation, activation and care of an apacheta. Students will work with the power of creation in the kaypacha or middle world, dimensionality and time, as well as with the three suns, and the hampikamayoq process (ancient breathing techniques for physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well-being and transformation). Participants will be further empowered by evoking both seen and unseen sources of cosmic awareness within their mesa, sacred objects and own being, and initiation into the lineage of this revered tradition.

What is The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition?
Pachakuti” means “world reversal” and refers to the time of transformation we are living now. A mesa is an altar for self-exploration, transformation and personal growth in which we create a new paradigm of one’s relation to the Self and the Universe. This tradition, in all its richness, is an evolving practice of inner and outer activities that restore balance and harmony to our relationships with All That Is.
What is the origination and lineage of the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition?
Don Oscar Miro-Quesada Solevo is the originator of the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition of cross-cultural shamanism andthe visionary founder of The Heart of the Healer organization (THOTH). Through his teachers, don Celso Rojas Palomino and don Benito Corihuamán Vargas, the ancient lineage of this shamanic tradition can be traced back to its origins over 5,000 years ago.
Don Oscar’s first experience with Peruvian shamanism was under the famed huachumero don Celso Rojas Palomino from Salas. After don Celso transitioned to the Spirit World, don Oscar then started a four-year apprenticeship within the Andean Paqokuna tradition of shamanism with famed kuraq akulleq don Benito Corihuamán Vargas from the village of Wasao.
Both of these venerated elders sanctioned Oscar with a similar compacto de voz y palabra (i.e., “an oral bequeath as elder lineage carrier for the people,”) requesting him to share the “prophetic vision” of the “Ancient Ones”, among as many people as possible living in modern Western developed nations of the world. Both elders insisted this was the only way of safeguarding the true “inner wisdom” behind the Earth-based spiritual traditions and healing arts continuously practiced by Peruvian indigenous cultures since time immemorial. They both insisted that this was the only way to prevent the total disappearance of these sacred wisdom traditions.
THROUGH THE STUDY AND PRACTICE OF SHAMANIC RITUAL ARTS, INDIVIDUALS LEARN TO LIVE IN HARMONY WITH NATURE, MOTHER EARTH AND HER CHILDREN, THE ANIMALS, PLANTS, MINERALS AND EACH OTHER.

I have participated in many of Robin and Darcy's Visionary Hearts offerings and as a student of the lineage under which they practice, I can say without question that what they bring forward and invite others into is a not-to-miss opportunity. They have an immense depth of experience working with the sacred cactus of Huachuma and incorporate the ancient teachings and practices of the Pachakuti Mesa tradition. Their approach to this work blends deep tradition alongside curious exploration of 'what's possible'. They honor the Great Mystery and this allows for curious and open expansion of each of our unique gifts and infinite wisdom.

The sacred ruins above Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and the wonders of Cusco where some of the additional delights incorperated into a visionary quest lead by Darcy and Robin last year in the sweet sweet town of Pisac Peru. Darcy and Robin are dedicated ceremonialists and Pachakuti Mesa carriers. They truly embody "yanantin" the Quechua concept of a sacred pair, a complimentary union; together they hold sacred space and fun space impeccably. The trip was comfortable, we were well taken care of. The medicine ceremonies held at Hummingbird Retreat centre where deeply nurturing and the setting was awe inspiring. Munay Sonqo saminchay Blessing from the sacred heart of Peru.

Along the wild-ride that has been my life, I have had the blessing of crossing paths with Darcy and Robin. From our first encounter their level of integrity, heart, and commitment to creating a more beautiful world struck a deep chord in me. When I caught wind that they would be offering a Pilgrimage to Peru, my heart rejoiced as I couldn’t think of two better guides for my first encounter with this magical land. The pilgrimage itself was wholly transformative. Robin and Darcy planned each day with meticulous love, care, and an ignited sense of adventure. I felt very safe and masterfully-held throughout the entire experience by the seen and unseen foundation these two had laid so beautifully prior to my arrival. In visiting the various sacred sites their knowledge, reverence, and passion for the Andean cultures shone through brilliantly. My experience of these powerful sites was greatly enriched by Darcy and Robin’s sharings of the various site histories, lore, and of the peoples that dwelled there many moons ago. I really appreciated how they made every conscious effort to connect us with the locals in deep and meaningful ways. We visited an elementary school, participated in beautiful despacho ceremonies with local elders and medicine carriers, and were treated to the beauty of traditional Peruvian dances and song. In this way, I did not feel like a “tourist” passing through, but a welcomed guest in a home amongst friends. In working with the medicine I found myself surrounded by unparalleled beauty. Everything from the space, to the food, to the company (did I mention the food?) was immaculate. With the level of safety and integrity present in each ceremony I was able to go deep within myself to catalyze healing that would have otherwise not been possible. The blessings, insights and gifts I received through these ceremonies continue to blossom in my life in magical and unexpected ways. It is rare indeed to find people who teach by the way they live, and live by what they teach, and that is exactly the medicine that Robin and Darcy offer. Darcy and Robin aren’t only “on the path” they are blazing a new way of being as a gift to us all. I wholeheartedly recommend them as impeccable guides and friends into the heart, lore and mystery that is Peru. Munay <3
