About This Event
“We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.”
~ T.S. Eliot
This special retreat version of George Haas's signature Meaningful Life course takes place at the Seven Circles Retreat Center in Central California. Nestled in the majestic foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, it's midway between LA and SF. During the retreat, George will guide you through the four foundations of mindfulness, emphasizing radical self-acceptance, calm and clarity. With a stable mind and open heart as a foundation, we will then explore aspects of relational mindfulness: how you connect to others, and how you can be completely yourself in relationships and work; in other words, how to live a meaningful life. Each morning will include Dharma teachings with meditation instructions, as well as mindful yoga with Mettagroup's Blake Shields Abramovitz. The afternoon will offer an opportunity for longer, uninterrupted practice, and evening sessions will focus on loving-kindness meditation. This retreat is open to beginners and ongoing practitioners and is encouraged for anyone seeking to deepen their meditation practice and bring greater insight into their daily life. Located on 24 acres of mixed oak and pine woodland, the center boasts stunning views, healthy food from local farms, charming cabins with en-suite facilities and virtually endless opportunity for outdoor splendor.
