Spiritual Trek to the Sacred Mountain Ausangate, incl. hot springs and San Pedro ceremony
About This Event
Join us on this magical trek to the Sacred Mountain Ausangate and experience the connection that the indigenous people feel with the Apus (Mountain Spirits) and Pachamama (Mother Earth) as a whole. A heart-opening San Pedro ceremony will prepare you for this special journey in which you also get to closely interact with people in an indigenous village well off the beaten tracks and reenergise your body and soul in hot springs surrounded by stunning landscapes.
Starting from the town of Pisaq in the Sacred Valley of Peru, we will begin this 4-day spiritual journey with a Wachuma/ San Pedro ceremony around the magical lake of Kinsaccocha to open our heart and our energy channels. We will be guided by an experienced Quechua medicine man, Don Hernan, and his students, who will connect us to the spirit world through Don Hernan’s ancient wisdom and family traditions. During the San Pedro journey we will also have a gentle hike through the stunning Peruvian Andes and a delicious fruit picnic. After the ceremony we will be having a light dinner at a local quechua home and return to our hotel in Pisac.
On the second day, we will drive to the Andean community of Pacchanta (3 hours drive from Pisac), located on the slopes of Mount “Ausangate”, 4400 above sea level. Surrounded by spectacular mountain sceneries and off the beaten tracks you will experience how the local inhabitants live their lives, breeding alpacas and cultivating native tubercles. They are knit experts and primarily use alpaca fiber to produce warming and colourful clothing. This experience will enrich your comprehension of the Andean Culture. After lunch we will spend the afternoon at the stunning and soul soothing hot springs in Pacchanta, which offer fantastic views of the Sacred Apu Ausangate. After a delicious dinner we will be accommodated at a hotel in the local community.
As the sun rises, accompanied by Don Vincente - a Master from the mystical Q’eros ethnic who are considered direct descendents of the Incas, we will embark on a gentle trek (about 2 - 3 hours) that will take us to the sacred lakes of Azul Cocha, Otorongo Cocha and Ancash Cocha. A horseback ride can be booked at additional cost. At the pristine Lake Otorongo we will have a traditional despacho (offering) ceremony dedicated to Pachamama (Mother Earth), as it has been practiced by the Q’ero people for centuries. We will then journey back to Pacchanta for dinner and a reenergizing sleep at the beautiful and cozy guesthouse of Don Eusebio.
Following a rich breakfast, we will drive back to Pisac or Cuzco.
