Embodying Presence: The Practice of Awakening

About This Event

 

Coming home to yourself is a process of daily awakening. In this two-day retreat, you are invited on a journey to deepen your self-understanding, self-care, compassion and happiness. With the practices of meditative movement, breathwork, and mindfulness meditation, we access the innate wisdom of the body to discover the path of awareness. Awareness cultivates the gifts of living in the present moment. Embodied practice invites us to draw our attention to habits and patterns of being — including reactivity, feelings of overwhelm, and fearfulness. Through guided explorations, we will learn about transforming these challenges, as well as honoring them. When we awaken to the present moment, fully and with self-compassion, we begin to transform difficulty into learning.

Throughout this retreat, we’ll go deep into the process of unfolding presence within ourselves, and in the understanding that we are always connected to others. To observe our minds with kind attention and outside of judgment, we will build the shape of heartfulness. Presence is a potent path to clarity in mind and body, and with supported self-care, we’ll walk this path to heartful awakening, together.

Come and enrich your practice of presence through awareness and discovery, unfolding the deepest layers of self-acceptance, choice, kindness and connection. No experience with movement or meditation is needed, and all are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothing to move in, and please bring a journal and pen.

      Living Fully with Fear

    The Living Fully with Fear course with Amanda Votto was an incredible experience. I was able to connect with my emotions, dig deep and find what was underneath those emotions, and find comfort within myself and from the shared experiences of the others in the class. I found the practices to be extremely helpful and at times challenging (in a good way). And overall, Amanda did a great job of putting everything into context and explaining how we can relate to fear and tap into a more compassionate part of ourselves. I do wish it had been longer than four weeks. It was a lot of material to cover, and there was a lot to explore and work through. Perhaps Copper Beech might consider extending these online courses to be six or eight week experiences. Even so, I am truly grateful for the opportunity and for all that I gained from this class. Thank you to Amanda and to Copper Beech!

      Harvest Dinner Dueling Pianos.

    As always Holy Family/ Copper Beach ALWAYS exceeds my expectations. Do yourself a favor, ATTEND a RETREAT, you will be hooked.

      Harvest Celebration 2018

    As always, a delightful evening!. Thoughts: 1. May want to publish an agenda in future. Not wise to be fashionably late. Reports were that the event was in full swing at 6:30 PM and 6:45 arrival felt like we were catching up. 2. Would be wise to provide the wifi information so everyone could connect for the text fundraiser. Verizon worked but several people near me said that they could not connect using ATT. The wifi would allow everyone to connect See you next year!!

      A Magical Place

    The Copper Beech Institute offers a wide variety of courses, meditations, workshops and is housed on a beautiful peace of property. I enjoy the Wednesday Candlelight Meditation as a group or 30-40 of us meet to share this mindful experience and are led by the incredible Miranda who always gives a talk that seems to hit home. This place is filled with such love and kindness. Go check it out!
