About This Event

Our 300 hours Advanced Yoga Teacher Training is a 28 day intensive course registered through Yoga Alliance USA.You must have already completed a 200 hours Yoga Teacher Training in order to enroll in this course. Upon successful completion of the program, together with your 200 hours training certificate, you will be able to register as a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) through Yoga Alliance- one of the highest and widely recognized teaching certifications in the field of yoga.

 

During this advanced training, we will proceed to explore who we are through the wonderful ancient science of Yoga in order to look at ourselves with new eyes. We will challenge you to question your beliefs and perspectives and understand how they reflect in your teaching. Gaining clarity about our conditioned beliefs allows us to live in freedom and joy.

 

If you were most comfortable teaching only one style of yoga, in this training we will open you up to the possibilities. Our advanced multi-style course focuses on three different styles: Hatha, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga. We will also take a look at other styles such as Yin, Restorative, and Yoga Nidra. You will deepen your understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the body and learn how to apply it practically in a Yoga Class. Advanced asanas, breath awareness, pranayamas, kriyas, mantras, and meditation will be presented, deepened, and practiced within the course as well.

 

Curriculum:

ASANA 

Your practice is your foundation, your real teacher. In the training, you will commit to practicing daily asana, pranayama, and meditation. What you practice, you will understand. What you understand, you will be able to teach. Therefore you’ll be encouraged to, as a group, teach a self designed sequence in the morning/afternoon sessions, which gives you a deeper insight into your understanding and how that translates into teaching. 

 

THE ART OF SEQUENCING AND ADJUSTING

 In this module you’ll learn how to do hands-on adjustments using props like blocks, belts, and cushions. Central to our teaching is to look at the students and understand their bodies. We will practice and gain confidence with offering effective hands-on adjustments to help your students deepen their practice and embody the fullest expression of their yoga poses. We will also encourage and assist you with designing creative sequences that compliment your personal teaching style.

 

THE ART OF ENERGETIC BALANCING 

In this training we encourage you to explore different ways of finding the center in your body through energetic awareness and alignment. From the system of yoga the result should always be that we create length and space in the body. When you find the center in the body, your mind will follow along. To achieve this we use muscle energy and core stability to protect the joints. Also, we will continue exploring several models of experiencing the physical body such as the seven chakras, the five elements, the three gunas, and the five layers, or koshas.

 

PRANAYAMA – You will continue/start a personal practice of pranayama to incorporate into your daily practice. At the end of the program you will have integrated these practices and, thus, will be able to incorporate different types of pranayamas into your teaching.

 

KRIYA - Kriyas are cleansing and purification practices. You will learn a selection of advanced, powerful kriya techniques (such as Uddiyana kriya, Nauli, Agni Sara), and incorporate them into your daily practice routine.

 

MEDITATION – We will continue experiencing different meditation techniques like silent sitting, movement meditations, heart meditations and Buddhist meditations. You will deepen your understanding of what meditation is, and understand how that translates into your daily life. Meditation from the point of yoga philosophy as well as chakra meditation to approach different energy channels (Nadis). 

 

ENERGETIC ANATOMY – You will study the subtle energetic bodies and you will learn and experience how the energy in the body works, and how the energy body and mind are intimately connected.

 

PHYSICAL ANATOMY – In this module you learn about the functional anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, the muscular system, and connective tissue to understand the effect of asana practice.

 

PHILOSOPHY – You will be challenged to find your own understanding of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, by studying them in depth. We gain deeper insight of the text and ourselves by sharing personal findings , discoveries and relate the philosophy to our lives.

  • You’ll have a deep knowledge of breath work and its effect on health and happiness
  • You’ll be able to teach and instruct various meditation techniques
  • You’ll have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of different chakras and how to address and treat them

Venue Highlights


Accommodations

Our Dharamsala location can accommodate up to 35 in and around the campus. Along with spaciousness and comfortable cozy furnishings these rooms are well appointed with comfortable amenities. The ambiance provided by the facilities allows you to focus on your yogic studies and have a peaceful rest and relaxing down time. The facilities included are memory foam mattresses, hot and cold water, security, and attached toilets. Air conditioning and heaters are available on request for an additional charge.

Menu Types

Menu/Cuisine

During this training, you will be served a daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Saturday dinner and all meals on Sundays are excluded. This way you can explore all the nice restaurants in the area. Our meals are vegetarian, but we do serve eggs and dairy, no meat and no fish. Meals are a combination of Indian home cooked and occasionally a more Western style. Please feel free to buy your own snacks and food to add on to our meals. We provide student fridges to store your stuff. We provide the three meals and nothing in between, you can get some bananas or other snacks in case you get hungry in between.

Please inform Parimukti of any special diet needs and allergies so that we can cater to you accordingly.

Directions

The best way to reach Dharamshala is to fly into Dharamsala Gaggal Kangra Airport (DHM).You can arrange a taxi from the airport to our center once you arrive. Most taxi drivers speak English and are used to working with tourist, so you can feel comfortable taking a taxi from the prepaid taxi stand. Use the address and directions as given above.

Pick up from the airport is available for an additional fee. Please inform us in a timely manner of your arrival date and time if you would like to arrange an airport pick up through us.

We do not facilitate pick-ups from anywhere else than the airport, so if you are travelling from within India please arrange your own transport to the center. Please remember if you take a taxi in India it is better to use an agency or pre-paid stands. All taxi drivers should have mobiles, so in case of emergency ask them to call us from their phone.
