About This Event
We are always in the between. Each and every moment is a moment full of potential for us to awake, to realize our true nature. Although we are always in a bardo, there are six larger Bardos (བར་དོ་དྲུག་), transitional states of life and death, that are much easier to recognize. This is an extremely rare opportunity to study these ‘in-between’ states with a Tibetan Buddhist Rimé and Kalachakra Master. A special emphasis will be placed on how to understand and work with these states from the perspective of the highest yoga tantra, the Kalachakra Vajrayana Buddhist teachings. Theoretical explanations will be supplemented with transmission and practical guidance of Kalachakra Phowa, a tantric buddhist practice to realize enlightenment at the moment of death. Along with the teachings, Khentrul Rinpoche will bestow the empowerment (jenang) of Vajravega, the wrathful form of Kalachakra. Wrathfrul Kalachakra has strong protection qualities from obstacles that prevent progress on the spiritual path.
This beautiful 3 day weekend retreat is set in the peaceful space of Crestone, Colorado. At 7,500 feet in elevation and ringed on three sides by mountains, Crestone is considered to be one of the great spiritual meccas in North America. Isolated and peaceful, it is home to more than two dozen ashrams, monasteries, temples, retreat centers, stupas, labyrinths, and other sacred landmarks such as a ziggurat, a structure modeled on the temples of ancient Babylon. Stay in our village of homes a very short meditative walk from the teachings at Colorado College.

Bus and Shuttles
Bustang provides daily bus service from Denver, Alamosa, and Pueblo and is the least expensive way to get to Baca Campus from an airport. The fare is about $30 one way to downtown Denver, where it connects with the RTD skyRide bus to the Denver airport. The Bustang bus picks up and drops off at Moffat.
To get to Crestone from Denver via Bustang take their Denver - Gunnison route, and transfer at Salida to the Pueblo - Alamosa route.
For more information and schedules of the Bustang service see their web site at ridebustang com. Purchase tickets in advance using the Bustang mobile app for iPhone and Android.
There are two shuttle services that will pick up from regional airports. This can be less expensive than renting a car if you will be staying for a lengthy retreat.
