9° Akhanda Yoga Meeting Italia

About This Event

Nine is the number of the Akhanda Yoga gatherings around Yogrishi Vishvketu in Italy.  And Nine are also the number of representations of Goddess Durga. Therefore it came natural to Vishva-ji and to his second ever pupil, Piero “Pranav” Casanova to dedicate this annual Akhanda Yoga Meeting to Durga and to her nine forms that embody the generative and creative power of women.

This AY retreat will be part of the new YAMM Milano Marittima Yoga Festival official program. Therefore, instead of being held in Bologna, as it has always been for the past years, this time it will move to the lovely beach town of Milano Marittima, endowing the practice with a beautiful natural Shala.

The theme of Goddess Durga will also inspire the main festival program. Therefore, YAMM Festival will be entirely dedicated to women and feminine power and energy and the various forms it takes. This form of the Goddess is the embodiment of the creative and generative energy of (mother ) nature and (mother) earth, a.k.a. “Shakti”.

The event will be held inside the natural park of Cervia / Milano Marittima.

What’s New for this edition? In parallel to Yogrishi Vishvketu, other teachers from England, India, Japan, Australia and Italy will also take part to the Festival offering  their original practices, including Yin Yoga, Shakti, Anusara, Kundalini, Yoga Prenatal and Wombology.

      Pranic Healing Workshop

This was a great workshop. I really enjoyed the online format and the use of the breakout rooms to meet and have discussion of the experiential techniques with other attendees. Yogrishi Vishvketu is such a brilliant teacher! I love his easy nature, sense of humor and his openness to answering questions. The various breathing practices ( pranayama ) that he presented during this class serve as excellent tools to promote overall better health and a peaceful, calm receptive mind. Looking forward to attending more offerings this summer and fall.

My second home, a place to nourish myself

I came 3 times at Anand Prakash Ashram and each time i could feel i just came back home. The energy of this place is amazing, the community of teachers, students and the ashram office is so supportive and welcoming. You can practice a daily routine from 5.20am with meditation, yoga, fire puja, until a delicioux breakfast. It is just the perfect way to start any day. Then i came back to experience the yoga teacher training, (200 hours and 300 hours) in 2017 and 2019. They are the most powerful experiences i have ever had. Yogrishi Vishvketu and the teachers team guide us into deep teachings of vedic wisdom, anatomy, technical asanas and pranayama... But for me this more than a training, this is a transformational experience that helps me to know more about my true nature, to bring more consciousness on my samskaras, to heal my mind and release my body, to share intense moment with people from all over the world and to be just surrounded by so much joy, so much love, so much support. I am so grateful to life that she brought me there, at the Anand Prakash Ashram and made me meet the one i now call Guruji. Thank so much to every person of the Akhanda Family !

      Incredible Experience

This retreat was the very best “vacation” I have ever had. Everything about is was perfect; beautiful and serene location, charming rooms, helpful staff and remarkable food all aligned for transformation! I have never felt so whole, welcome and accepted. Vishva’s presence is so powerful; he left me feeling inspired, empowered and motivated to be my optimal self, every moment. His intention landed, the simple instructions he gave have changed my life; still glowing two weeks later. I did not know it was possible to love yoga more, after this retreat I am more determined to practice, share and honour this ancient and sacred medicine. Grateful for the experience and for my Guru. So much love. Namaste.

      Sanctum Retreat Alberta

Another amazing year!! As Yoga is a practice so are yoga retreats. I feel like I am getting better and better at understanding what I need to get out of this retreat and how to do that. Prior to the retreat I was suffering a malaise I couldn't shake, simple tasks were difficult and, at the pace I was going, true contentedness seemed achievable only through the course of many lives. Post the retreat my battery feels charged and most things in my daily life as a common "householder" feel quite effortless. I walked down a street on the Monday after the retreat that I always walk after work. I was simply amazed by the amount of things I was observing, smelling and feeling, my senses were uniquely alive and my head was, for once, quiet. I was seeing everything, observing the world, I felt like a part of it. I saw every bike on every balcony of the apartment buildings. I noticed beautiful painting jobs on houses that I have never noticed before and I gave and received as many smiles as I have in the past 11 months combined. I was resting in my true nature!! It was really nice. I eagerly look forward to next years retreat and will earnestly continue on with the progress I made this year. Namaste!

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

It would my first vacation in the mountains. I think getting away and beginning a new routine would be good for me and a friend. Dianne
