Manjushri Retreat-One Week

About This Event

On the Manjushri Retreat, take a week-long vacation with the Buddha of Wisdom. Join us for the Abbey’s annual 1-week meditation retreat on Manjushri.

Manjushri practice is especially effective for eliminating confusion and ignorance, generating wisdom, and enhancing bodhicitta. Initiation into the Manjushri practice is helpful, but not required for this retreat.

The annual 1-week retreat is a chance to really get a feel for meditation practice and to deepen in the Dharma. The retreat will include teachings with Ven. Thubten Chodron as well as several daily practice sessions. We will hold noble silence.

A dana offering and registration form are requested to reserve your place for the retreat. Use the long form. You can find this on our website

Arrive by 5:00 on Wednesday.  Retreat ends after 2:00 on the following Wednesday.

When you plant seeds in the garden, you don’t dig them up every day to see if they have sprouted yet. You simply water them and clear away the weeds; you know that the seeds will grow in time. Similarly, just do your daily practice and cultivate a kind heart. Abandon impatience and instead be content creating the causes for goodness; the results will come when they’re ready. ~ Venerable Thubten Chodron

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with myself after a very crazy few months with a new baby! Just having that feeling of being grounded again. But also having an opportunity to connect with new amazing people. Getting exposed and Inspired by new (to me) yoga instructors (and community). Being in the presence of real, authentic and raw emotion (the whole spectrum).. So many reasons! Alyson
