About This Event

The first week we settle in beautiful locations surrounding the Kathmandu Valley and visit some of the most revered Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world. The second week we hike in the foothills of the Himalayas, walking in the footsteps of fully realised yogis and yoginis, as we visit monasteries and nunneries that are nestled inside a ‘pure-land’.

The meditation and philosophy theme will be weaved into our days, both in the Kathmandu Valley and in the Himalayan foothills, as we embark on an inner and outer journey through Nepal.

“I have always known I would come to Nepal, and then this perfect opportunity presented itself exactly at the moment I was ready. I came in without an agenda and just open to the experience; It was truly life changing, each moment unforgettable. I will enjoy processing it for the months or perhaps years to come. Namaste” Suzanne Kennedy

Venue Highlights

Based on our many years of traveling and visiting beautiful, little pockets of Nepal we have handpicked some unique places for our 14-Day Journeys in Nepal. The accommodation that we have chosen for our pilgrimage vary from a stay at a Tibetan Buddhist Monastery guesthouse in Pharping, to a beautifully located resort in Namo Buddha, both located in the Kathmandu Valley. In both of these places we have access to hot water, wifi, delicious and fresh vegetarian meals.

Accommodation includes a shared room unless the guest books a single room at additional cost. During our days in the Kathmandu Valley the accommodation is of high standard, with access to hot water, and with meals served as fresh and vegetarian food.
During our days up at the Tibetan Buddhist nunnery, located in the Lower Everest region, the accommodation will be more basic, with Asian-style toilets and hot water bucket showers. This is part of the experience ;)

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with myself after a very crazy few months with a new baby! Just having that feeling of being grounded again. But also having an opportunity to connect with new amazing people. Getting exposed and Inspired by new (to me) yoga instructors (and community). Being in the presence of real, authentic and raw emotion (the whole spectrum).. So many reasons! Alyson

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
