Ayahuasca Like a Local – Ayahuasca Ceremony in Brazil, pick up São Paulo / 22.06.19

About This Event

Our mission is to make authentic and magical Ayahuasca Ceremonies in Brazil accessible to non-locals. We provide preparation, transport, translation and integration. Beautiful settings, good infrastructure and transcending live music are our recipe for unique and unforgettable experiences.

Ayahuasca culture in Brazil is very diverse. Indigenous cultures in Brazil use Ayahuasca since thousands of years. Its ritual use has been adapted by modern Brazilian culture in 1930. It was then, that Raimundo Irineu Serra, the son of an former slave, got introduced to the medicine by native tribes. In his visions he encountered “the queen of the forest” and founded the syncretic Santo Daime religion. Which incorporates elements of Catholicism, African Spiritism and indigenous Shamanism. He thereby laid the groundwork for the vibrant and open minded Ayahuasca culture in modern day Brazil. Today, about a hundred years later, the sacramental use of Ayahuasca has been adapted also by Buddhist, Yogic and Holistic institutions and communities in Brazil.

Ayahuasca ceremonies in Brazil usually take place on weekends and holidays. The participants and facilitators are local Brazilians. The ceremonies are hosted by non profit, religious institutions and spiritual communities. The wide variety of contemporary Ayahuasca culture in Brazil is largely unknown to foreigners and even most Brazilians.

Ayahuasca churches and communities in Brazil do not advertise and rarely have a searchable presence on the web. Finding a great facilitator and setting can be challenging even for Brazilians. The Ayahuasca communities we work with are open-minded and deeply spiritual. The ceremonies take place in beautiful settings, surrounded by nature.

A human being is part of a whole, called by us the ‘Universe’ —a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts, and feelings, as something separated from the rest—a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. -Albert Einstein

Venue Highlights

There is something very special about this place. Maybe it is the sparkly river that runs by the back of the premises. Or the modest and radiant facilitators, the enchanting and soulful music, the sounds of the surrounding nature or the sizzling bonfire. But most of all the warmhearted community. The ceremony will be accompanied by enchanting live music. Music listening has been consistently used as a method to guide or support therapeutic experiences during the acute effects of psychedelic drugs. Recent findings point to the potential of music to support meaning-making, emotionality, and mental imagery after the administration of psychedelics, and suggest that music plays an important role in facilitating positive clinical outcomes of psychedelic therapy.

The ceremony begins after sunset. There is a lot of space on the covered veranda and around the campfire, make sure to bring a sleeping pad, a cozy blanket and your most comfortable cloth.

  • Free Parking
  • Tour Assistance
  • Coffee/Tea

Menu Types

  • Vegetarian

Before the ceremony we share a light vegetarian meal and in the morning we have a shared breakfast, comprised of fresh fruit, juices, bread, salads, etc.. Traditionally, every participant brings something to the table.
