About This Event

This celebratory weekend begins Friday, August 30 and concludes Sunday, September 1, but guests are welcome to choose which nights they would like to attend.

Join us for a heartwarming weekend in honor of our founder Yogacharya Oliver’s 126th Birthday Memorial.

All are invited to attend this inspiring annual tradition! Come and connect on a deeper level with this blessed retreat and the vision that Yogacharya Oliver Black imparted for all of us to continue creating now and for future generations to come! Come walk the forest shrine trails, swim in the refreshing waters of the Pigeon River or nearby Pickerel Lake, practice hatha yoga, and best of all, meditate deeply among fellow seekers.  Simply come to be in the high vibrations of our beautiful spiritual retreat, celebrate the love we share for God, guru and one another, and celebrate the past, present and future of Song of the Morning.

This annual, memorable retreat weekend celebrates the life and legacy of Yogacharya, and has also become an established time of reunion for staff and visitors from across the five decades of our development–and are a warm and friendly weekend for those who are interested in what this intentional yoga community is all about! Please bring your friends, family, children, grandchildren, and neighbors. We are planning activities for all!

There is no program fee for this event. Donations are graciously accepted to help maintain the retreat center. Accommodations are limited and this is anticipated to be a full weekend, so book early to secure a room on the Song of the Morning property!

Accommodations

The Boathouse Apartment overlooks the Pigeon River and surrounding meadow. Its open yet inviting floor plan is just the beginning of what makes this our most sought after accommodation.

The Wheelhouse Apartment is a recently renovated apartment with a large kitchen/dining area, full bathroom and bedroom with queen-size bed and sitting area. You'll feel like you're living in nature with all the comforts of home. Offers a peaceful view of the forest, with deer and other wildlife often passing by or feeding right outside the windows.

The Lodge sits upon a forested hill overlooking the Pigeon River. It is a comfortable facility that is perfect for those wanting more privacy. The Lodge features a large living room area, used for evening meditations, our Sunday service and occasional workshops. It also has a full kitchen for guests to use.

The Mainhouse houses the Ranch dining room, kitchen, office and bookstore. It has a small sitting area, outside deck and low-speed wireless internet. The Mainhouse sits above the Pigeon River with a glorious view of the Pigeon River as well as trumpeter swans, bald eagles and other wildlife.

The Domes, comprised of three 40-foot bio-dome structures with skylights, is a beautifully unique facility. It provides a more communal environment with two large shared bathrooms (one each for men & women), refrigerator, tea kettle and microwave. The Center Dome is an open dome often used as a workshop space.

Camping Sites are available throughout the property. Enjoy the beautiful Pigeon River Forest in the rustic environment of the outdoors. With the spiritual energy of the land, fresh air, and starry nights like nowhere else, camping here is a must for nature lovers.
