Retreat languages are English, Dutch, Russian and German.

Experience and enjoy the presence of a living master in daily Satsang, guiding you home. Satsang with Madhukar, consisting of meditative silence and support, is held twice daily in the most beautiful Ashram in Tiruvannamalai. Satsangs are gatherings where busy minds cool down. Through silence, meditation, dialogue and chanting.

In the morning, you will enjoy breakfast and then we meditate together.
At lunch, a healing vegetarian-ayurvedic detox diet revives your body and clears your mind.

In the afternoon you can relax and release by taking a rest or take walks in the spacious grounds of the Ashram. Mid-afternoon, you are invited for tea time to the Ashram’s dining hall. Two to three times a week there is Mantra chanting late afternoon. In your free time, you can apply self-inquiry (Atma Vichara) in which you get introduced in this retreat. Your experiences with it, you can share with Madhukar during daily Satsang, where it is allowed to speak and arising questions can be clarified.

We have dinner together in the Ashram dining hall, and in the evening true peace reveals itself during Satsang with Madhukar: Thoughts fade and give way to inner silence.

During the retreat, pilgrimages around the sacred mountain, walks to the golden pond and sitting in Ramana Maharshi’s living room will deepen the silence within you. Hence you will immerse into utter silence truly beyond imagination.

Optionally free Yoga classes are offered in the mornings at sunrise. You are welcome to join!

About This Event

Find Inner Peace through Guided Meditation

An intensive silence retreat at the foot of the holy mountain Arunachala. For three weeks all your attention is directed inward. Set out for a live-changing experience!

In Madhukar’s presence and guidance you experience a tranquil state of consciousness. That enhances wisdom and nurtures your mind towards inner peace. Madhukar is a direct disciple of Papaji (Sri H.W.L. Poonja), whose Guru was the famous saint of Arunachala, Sri Ramana Maharshi.

The serene beauty of Arunachala is the place for this courageous dive into oneself. You agree to shut down all digital devices and to take a strict vow of silence. Arising questions can be clarified with Madhukar during Satsang, where it is allowed to speak. While fading thoughts clear the space again for the beauty surrounding you, the master is guiding you deeper and deeper into silence – a revelation unfolds!

You will receive a certificate of your participation in this Enlighten Life Ashram Silent Retreat.

It is beyond words or thoughts. Ramana Maharshi

Accommodations

During this retreat, you will be staying in the “Center for Bharathiya Dharmic and Cultural Studies”, a beautiful Ashram embeded amidst rice fields, right at the foot of the holy mountain Arunachala.

Our rooms are spread in the Ashram garden, which is a paradise full of exotic flowers, birds and butterflies.
The heart of the Ashram is the Satsang pavilion with a marble floor and wooden carvings.

Away from the noise of the town, the site covers an area of more than 7 hectars, spreaded towards the mountain and providing lots of space for walking and jogging.

Location
The retreat takes place in the most beautiful Ashram in Tiruvannamalai, right at the foot of the holy mountain Arunachala.

Spiritual seekers from all over the world are drawn to Arunachala which is said to be the spiritual center of the universe.

Tiruvannamalai, located in the federal state of Tamil Nadu, South India, is where Sri Ramana Maharshi lived, the most famous sage of the twentieth century both in India and the rest of the world. His deep silence is still present today.
The living room of Ramana Maharshi, destination for numerous spiritual searchers, lies inside of the Ramana Ashram in Tiruvannamalai. From there a path is leading up the mountain to the Virupaksha cave, the place where Ramana Maharishi meditated.

In Tiruvannamalai, dedicated to the deity Shiva, the Arunachalesvara Temple erects with its four gateway towers, covering 10 hectares, one of the largest temple complexes in India.
