Event Highlights

  • The “Reinventing Awareness” retreat has been designed to help you relax deeply, destress and look inwards, away from the rigours and noises of daily life. The format of the retreat is such that each participant gets an opportunity to focus on self-healing, aligning with his/her higher purpose and truly getting to know oneself. This is achieved through a number of different modules. At the end of the program, you would be able to take away key learnings that you can practice on an ongoing basis thereafter in your day-to-day life.
  • Traditional Yoga: Yoga sessions in the morning and evening that focus on relaxation and simplicity. The emphasis would be on alignment and equanimity, leading the practitioner to a feeling of ease and quiet. Classes would include a blend of yoga asanas, pranayamas, chanting, and meditations besides a quick overview of selected teachings from yoga philosophy. Traditional Yoga is easy for people to adopt into their daily lives and benefit from the practice.
  • Meditations: Over the course of this program, the group will practice various forms of guided meditation such as Power of Purity, The bliss of Silence and Blossoms of Love, given to us by Brahmarishi Mohanji, a world-renowned philosopher, philanthropist and the major inspiration behind HSTY. These meditations contribute to peace within the practitioner, his/her environment and society as a whole. They guide to forgiveness, gratitude and harmonious life. Mohanji Energy Transfer is an additional special blessing that deepens the meditation and greatly enhances the cleansing effect.
  • Conscious Dancing: When we move our body freely with the attention on specific chakras, understanding and feeling their qualities, dance becomes an amazingly effective meditation and a powerful technique for the balancing of chakras. As a result, the vertical dimension of our being is awakened and experienced in an explosion of pure bliss.
  • Conscious Walking: Conscious Walking (CW) is a dynamic walking meditation technique. The philosophy behind Conscious Walking is linked heavily to ancient Vedic and Buddhist principles and practices. It works on multiple levels, bringing you to the present moment awareness. When CW is performed with full awareness, it is both a good form of exercise AND also a way to train the mind to remain in the present moment, in the NOW. Thirty minutes of Conscious Walking can be as effective as three hours of sitting meditation.
  • Awakening Yoga Nidra: A combination of Yogic warm up and guided inner transformation, it supports and enhances inner cleansing substantially. This unique practice is based on the ancient method of effective, progressive relaxation called yoga nidra (self-induced, conscious yogic sleep), a beautiful method of balancing and activating both sides of the brain, strengthening the inner witness (sakshi bhaav) and speeding up the process of spiritual awakening.
  • Mai-Tri Method: Mai-Tri Method is a profound method of deep cleansing and harmonizing, which greatly enhances the natural, self-healing abilities of the recipient in the process of restoration of his/her inner balance at all levels of being. While passing through the chakras, the energy penetrates very deeply, all the way to the causal layer of our existence (the causal body) to address the root of karmic blockages. This enables the recipient to release deep patterns which cause physical and emotional ailments and imbalances.


The day will start with a Yoga session and Healthy Breakfast
During the day we will have different modules focusing on self-healing, aligning with his/her higher purpose and truly getting to know oneself: Conscious Dancing, Meditations with Mohanji Energy Transfer, Conscious Walking, Awakening Yoga Nidra, Mai Tri Sessions etc.
With afternoon Lunch, time for rest and to relax, tea time with discussions on the different topic.

About This Event

Himalayan School of Traditional Yoga (HSTY) invites you to a unique four-day self-exploration retreat “Reinventing Awareness”.

Devi Mohan, senior faculty of HSTY and global ambassador of Mohanji Foundation, will lead this retreat, focusing on specific needs of each participant. Besides her background as an experienced yoga teacher, Devi brings a wealth of experience in various regenerative practices and healing methods such as Mai-Tri Method, Conscious Dancing, Awakening Yoga Nidra, etc., all of which will be part of this retreat.

Venue Highlights

Jim Corbett National Park, which is a part of the larger Corbett Tiger Reserve, a Project Tiger Reserve lies in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. The magical landscape of Corbett is well known and fabled for its tiger richness. Established in the year 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett has the glory of being India's oldest and most prestigious National Park. It is also being honoured as the place where Project Tiger was first launched in 1973. This unique tiger territory is best known as the father who gave birth to the Project Tiger in India to protect the most endangered species and the Royal of India called Tigers.

Spans over an extent of 520 square kilometres, its whole area comprises of hills, marshy depressions, riverine belts, grasslands and a large lake. It is among the few tiger reserves in India that allow overnight stays in the lap of the National Park. Nature watch and wildlife viewing in the park is done in an open four wheeler Jeep and on elephant back. Sheltering a healthy population of tigers and rare species like Otters and the endemic fish-eating crocodile, the national park is one of the most sought after destinations for the wildlife buffs. Dhikala, situated at the border of the extensive Patil Dun valley, is the most popular destination in Corbett because of its superb location and sheer abundance of wildlife present.

If you love bird watching then Corbett is a virtual haven for such tourists. Corbett and its adjoining area is home to more than 650 species of residents and migratory birds. Particularly Dhikala is a fine place to look for birds of prey, more than over 50 species of raptors alone shows the healthy biodiversity of the area. Their multiplex behaviour is intriguing and their varied songs are very much pleasing to the ear. In a nutshell, this finest national park of India is well known for rich and varied wildlife including royal Bengal tiger, elephant, four to five species of deer and rich birdlife.
