About This Event

Threshold Moments

We will explore our theme through Mary’s threshold moments of the annunciation, conception, and ‘bearing forth’ of the Christ Child. In community and in solitude, participants will be invited to ponder, “How do we receive and nurture the Christ within so that Christ might be borne into the world through us”.

As part of the Canadian School of Celtic Consciousness program, we offer quarterly events for those attending or have attended our annual July program. John Philip has suggested these gatherings as a means to build on the experience and learning of the annual three-day schools; and to nurture study, spiritual practice, community and action. That being said, if you have not yet attended the School of Celtic Consciousness, and would like to attend the quarterly events, please register and plan to join us.

The quarterly gathering can include an overnight ‘mini-retreat’. Guests can arrive the evening before the event, stay overnight in our Main Building in single or shared rooms.  There is time to slow down, read or journal by the fire, meditate or pray in our interfaith prayer space, or go for a walk in the forest.

The Gathering takes place between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm (check-in between 9:30 and 9:45, then 10 minutes of silence together before beginning).  You can also just come for the day and not include an overnight.

The dates of our Quarterly Gatherings for (contact info blocked) are:

November 5th, 2019  (Threshold Moments)

February 18th, 2020  (Peregrinations pro Christo)

May 5th,2020 (Thin Places with our Anam Cara)

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I teach yoga part time and am a mom of two toddlers full time. I love my life, but goodness do I need a break. My husband and I have been putting off our wedding ceremony for 4 years because life has gotten in the way. We haven't had a single night alone since our family has grown. I wouldn't change a thing about our lives now, but it would be so wonderful to remember what it's like to 'just be us.' Antrim

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
