WEEKEND INTENSIVE: MOVING TOWARD MASTERY

A yoga practice offers the tools to create a life that leads towards happiness and freedom. These qualities are skillfully cultivated and maintained in the ever-changing circumstances of our lives.

When you reflect on your life and choices, when you look closely at the people, your experiences and surrounding circumstances, do you see the signs of true happiness and freedom?

Even if nothing could immediately change on the outside, are you able to skillfully navigate the story of your mind’s inner life?

In this intensive, we will look closely at the role of our mind in yoga and how we can establish a friendly relationship with the mind that opens the door to our greatest inner resources.

Each session will include a focus for the practices that will challenge and simultaneously cultivate a healthy and powerful mind.

THE SESSIONS:

Session 1: Asana as Embodied Action

Learn to bring your mind into a heightened awareness when moving into an advanced pose.

Session 2: Pranayama as Refined Sensitivity

Learn to reflect on simple and subtle adjustments in breathing to still and quiet the mind.

Session 3: Contemplation as Focused Inquiry

Learn to use discrimination to guide your mind in a positive direction.

Session 4: Meditation as Absorbed Wisdom

Learn to recognize the state of mind that leads toward personal freedom and happiness. During this intensive, you will experience the interconnectedness of all these practices and engage in a unique process that will serve your ongoing study.

Join Nikki for a weekend of Moving Toward Mastery!

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with myself after a very crazy few months with a new baby! Just having that feeling of being grounded again. But also having an opportunity to connect with new amazing people. Getting exposed and Inspired by new (to me) yoga instructors (and community). Being in the presence of real, authentic and raw emotion (the whole spectrum).. So many reasons! Alyson

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
