About This Event
This is a very unique opportunity to work and experience high level Shipibo Ayahuasca in this kind of setting by the ocean.
Retreat includes 4 Ayahuasca ceremonies with maestro Emilio. The group size is very limited, max.7 participants. Maestro Emilio comes from a long lineage of Shipibo maestros and has himself 15 years of experience as a maestro. Maestro Emilio is a part of a Shipibo Ayahuasca healing center called Ronin Sina in the Peruvian Amazon. Ronin Sina is run by the family of Emilio, his father maestro Sina leading the center. In Shipibo tradition the maestros dont work with large groups but rather work with small groups to be able to fully focus on each participant. We wish to provide a setting where each participant can heal, learn and advance to their maximum potential in this limited time of a retreat.
Usually one needs to travel to Peruvian Amazon to work with this level Shipibo maestros. We love the jungle and welcome all people wholeheartedly to visit us in the Peruvian Amazon as well but for many people the jungle might be a bit rough and scary, for this reason these retreats are wonderful opportunity to experience Shipibo Ayahuasca in more comfortable setting. The energy of the ocean also works very well with Ayahuasca. Maestro Emilio has been leading retreats in Montañita several times and loves the place.
This retreat is suitable for both first timers and more experienced people. We will provide all necessary guidance and help during the retreat for all participants. The safety of our guests is of course our priority.
We are located in the town of Montañita in Ecuador. Montañita beach is known as maybe the best surf beach in Ecuador. Our house is located on top of a hill perfectly far away from the noise of the town but still conveniently so its easy to go there is something is needed. During the retreats participants can spend time on the beach and go surfing if they want. We can arrange surf lessons for people who so wish. Guests also have opportunity to do a day trip to Isla De La Plata nature reserve, also known as the "poor mans Galapagos".
Accommodation is in dorm rooms. Each bed has curtains to make it private. We also have private room to rent for additional price.

I went to a retreat in Ecuador with Sina and Emilio and it was one of the best events of my life. I’ve done ayahuasca many times with a trusted maestro in New York and Los Angeles. Those experiences were always great, but it lacked the connection with nature. This retreat brought it all together. Ayahuasca is tricky because there are a lot of half-baked shaman, overpriced retreats, and people who lack lineage looking to make a buck off people who don’t do their homework. I’ve heard horror stories from friends who did ayahuasca with bad teachers. This was the opposite. This was comfortable with the appropriate level of seriousness and lightheartedness. This one gets to the point. You come, you do the work, and you enjoy yourself. You build memories here. The community at the retreat was great as well. You laugh and you cry in a setting that honors you and your individual experience. You do your own thing or you connect with others. This isn’t for someone who wants to go to some plastic shaman celebrated by hacky American life coaches. This is for someone who wants to do the real work and have a safe experience with authenticity. This is for someone who wants to be in a space where they can trust their teachers throughout the experience. This is for someone who wants to refine their experience with plant medicine with a father and son team that respect you and your process.

I consider myself lucky to have met Maestro Sina and his family. Throughout the years I worked with plant dietas in different places and with over twenty different Maestros. I don’t need to look any further as I can’t imagine any better experience, environment and guidance than that received dieting with Maestro Sina. He truly stands out as a curandero with all the qualities one should look up for. Maestro Sina comes from a strong lineage of powerful shamans, has great knowledge and experience, high ethics, pure intentions, immaculate integrity, strong character but soft heart, and remains modest and humble. In healing work he is supported by his sons, also great Maestros. Each having their different style and personality, together they create this magical and powerful synergy. Whatever I’d say, I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

I was at Ronin Sina during the summer of 2018. It took me a long time to find the right master/people to work with. I was not in a rush. And when I found Ronin Sina - I did not look for anyone else. This is true healing, true mastery. Both Sina and his son Emilio have the most beautiful Icaros. They are both strong in their knowledge and in their craft. The place was authentic - cut off from any kind of modern civilisation. If you want to heal, and be alone in the jungle (well, maybe not completely alone) - this is really the place to go. Also, this was one of the most affordable places I found. Let me say - more money does not always mean - more or better service. Highly recommend. Go! :]

Last year I travelled Peru for a few months. I had previously tried ayahuasca a few times in Europe, and now wanted go and see the culture from where the medicine came from. On my travels I tried ceremonies with different shamans and retreats. I saw the beauty in the new aya-culture, but also the horrible side of it as well. Since ayahuasca has become so popular these last year, too many people are exploiting the culture/market. Fake shamans are everywhere, and everyone is trying to sell something. Travelling alone it can be hard to navigate through the bullshit. Guess the hard way to find the right parh is through trail and error. Luckily for me I finally got recommended the Ronin Sina center. And what a breath of fresh air it was to visit this place. You will find no feather-wearing-costume-shamans in this place. No exit through the gift shop. All is stripped down to focus on the real medicine, plant spirit and healing instead of a spectacle. I felt 100% safe working with the Maestros. They really know what they are doing, and have all done years and years of plant diettas. I felt humble sitting in ceremonie, being sung to by people like this. It was very powerful moments. But best of all is to know that the maestros are for real, and so are all the brilliant facilitators that are helping out, and also being part of building this beautiful place. You really get the feeling that their heart is in the right place, and they are truly doing this to give back to the culture, family, community and visitors like me.This is definitely no touristic money grab. If you want to learn more from the culture, get a better understanding of the medicine, explore the plant spirits and to heal, than this might be the place you are looking for. If my mother ever want to do ayahuasca, I will send her to Ronin Sina :) Although I felt like a Norwegian polar bear in the heat of the jungle, I will definitely go back. Big thanks to everyone at the retreat for helping me get a better understanding. See you soon! Cheers ~E 🌿🌱🍃🍀🌿
