The Dharma of Collective Resiliency

About This Event

The world is unsteady and seemingly chaotic. It is hard to maintain our physical and emotional balance. Resiliency is such an important skill to develop right now. Resiliency is about how well we are able to meet the challenges of our lives with a sense of openness and curiosity that helps us to regain our balance. Balance means understanding how to return back to a sense of being grounded in order to meet challenges directly. One of the methods we use to sustain our resiliency is mourning. Mourning means that we tap into our sadness and hopelessness in order offer the material space to be within our experience. Mourning helps us to unearth heavy and sometimes hidden energy resulting in increased and sustained resiliency. As a community in this retreat, we will be moving through mindfulness practice, heart based practices, tantric practices of Tara (the female Buddha of Compassion), pranayama (energy breath practice), simple movement practice, as well as Lama Rod’s touching earth practice (Bhumisparsha) and the 7 Homecomings to explore resiliency and mourning together.
