Five Ayahuasca Ceremonies

In shamanism, all dis-ease arises from conflict between the shadow and conscious self creating imbalance and blockages in the psyche. Ayahuasca and other plant medicines bring the shadow to the surface, where it can be examined and integrated consciously.

10 - Day Ayahuasca Retreat

The Retreat Walkthrough:

Typical to a standard 10-day retreat. (Subject to Change)

Your first activity as our guest will be an opening Pachi Mama (Mother Earth) ceremony.  After which you will be taken through your first Ayahuasca experience (5 in total throughout your stay with us). After every Ayahuasca ceremony, the guest and qualified staff will gather in a group circle to discuss your journeys and give insight.

Other Activities include: 2 Tobacco purges, Psychological consultations, Neuromuscular Therapy, Energy Healings, Guided Meditations, Yoga, Qi Gong, Shamanic Lectures, and to close everything off, a closing Gratitude Ceremony.

The San Pedro Ceremony

To Open You Up To Nature's Wonders

Sacred San Pedro Ceremonies in the Andean Mountains

We are very, very excited to inform you all that the San Pedro (Huachuma) portion of our 10-Day Ayahuasca Retreat has returned.  San Pedro is a wonderful heart opening sacred medicine, that can connect you deeper with the planet and fellow human beings.

The San Pedro Ceremony is the culmination of your retreat.  If you choose to partake in this beautiful experience , one Ayahuasca Ceremony will be removed from your retreat schedule.  This is so, the Ayahuasca has adequate time to work with your energy system and avoids mixing the two very power psychedelics.

Whats Involved?

Guests will be introduced to San Pedro once the course of their 4 Ayahausca ceremonies has come to completion, guests will be guided on a San Pedro walk to the head of the Cojup River, where they will spend the bulk of the experience in the beautiful Cojup River Valley in a location we named Elven Glen.

Guests who are only interested in participating in the Ayahuasca ceremonies are welcome to opt out of the San Pedro excursion.

San Pedro Preparation

As a part of the San Pedro Experience guests will be able to participate in the preparation of the sacred medicine with the guidance of our facilitators.

Guests will be able to help with the prep and the cooking of the San Pedro from start to finish that will be used in their ceremony.  This is so the guests will have a more intimate connection with the plant and their experience of it.

Retreat at Shanti Space Portugal, New retreat format - August 2019

This was my third time working with Alex and first time working with Anna. This time around was an European retreat, based at «The Shanti Space» outside Lisbon, Portugal. It was my first time with the new format (7xYogaya or Kundalini excercises with microdoses of Ayahuasca + 3 regular Ayahuasca cermonies, 7x Tobacco cleanse cermonies with breathwork instead of 3x regular tobacco cleanses, 7x treebark dieta). I was a little sceptical at first as I was afraid to not be able to go deep enough with the medicine as the new format was advertised as more grounded (microdoses and cermonies scheduled earlier in the day). Also I already have some yoga classes behind me, so I wasn't really there for learning new practises. However this new format really impressed me. The breathwork functioned really well with the relaxation that comes after the tobacco cleanses and the Yogaya sessions were very powerful. The Yogaya sessions was also a very nice foundation for the regular Ayahuasca cermonies, which started right after. They helped me too more gracefully ease into the cermonies (I can be rather nervous when jumping straight in hehe). With the old format of bigger cups but with relaxing days inbetween, I remember it as if my body and mind were more unsettled throughout the retreat, making it a bit more difficult to work with the medicine (sharper up's and down's I guess). As to the new format, my experience was more of a smoother flow of going deeper and deeper each day, being more aware and stable, yet there was not a lack of depth, as I was sceptical about at first. For me the kundalini excercises felt as a good steppingstone between ordinary conscioussness and the heightened medicine state. Now that I have been home for three weeks, I can also say that it has been easier to integrate and let the healing continue, I believe that has much to do with the «smooth flow» feeling this retreat was imbibed with, compared to my experience from before which was more of a rollercoaster ride. All in all, I think the new format is a huge success when considering long term healing. As to Alex, he was brilliant as always, explaning really dense information in a humoristic and easy going way. The good talks before and inbetween the sessions about what's going on and how it all fits togheter helps in innumerous ways. Anna was a very good addition to the retreat. Her joyful and warming presence created a good dynamic between the two, as well as an atmosphere of love, compassion and acceptance, making the space even more conducive to opening up and letting healing take place. I am so grateful to both of them for everything that was done, from start to finish, what I know of and what went straight above my head xD. I also want to add that I am very grateful for the Venus Kriyas. As we were only couples on the retreat, we decided in union, to swith up some of the kundalini kriyas with som couples kriyas. That was very strenghtening and healing for our relationship, deepening our understanding and connection. We are excited to see «the dance between us» unfold more gracious than ever as we continue to do the Venus kriyas. I will definitely sign up for another retreat with Alex and Anna in the future.

Alex is a trusted, experienced and sage shaman that will forever impact your life

I spent 13 days at The Way Inn where I was able to get to know Alex. Alex is connected to the world around us in a way very few people can understand. This gift allows him to relate and understand his clients on a deeper level. I have never experienced the passion, dedication and commitment that Alex shows to his work i.e. life calling. I work in corporate and follow the straight narrow path, I was looking for someone who could relate to me and guide me to understand what I was still searching for in my life. I felt like something had been holding me back and I didn't know what it was. I was/am happy, great job/ great partner... but still had this weight on my chest that I was looking to understand better and get rid of. Alex is the perfect person who helped me figure out what was going on. Throughout the 13 days and his process, I felt very comfortable, safe and secure with Alex. He has opened my eyes and my heart to the future of possibilities. Meeting and working with Alex is a gift that I will never forget. I encourage anyone looking for a guide/shaman/advisor to connect with Alex.

      A Beautiful Life Changing Experience!

The Way Inn is truly the most beautiful place that I have ever seen. I have worked with many facilitators but Alex took my experience to another level. I have so much gratitude for his ability to compassionately push me to new dimensions of healing and would recommend him to anyone. I hope to work with him again very soon!

The Way Inn / Alex Good

For anyone searching for a place or a person that can serve for guidance, counciousness expansion, spiritual fortification and overall cleansing/healing through medicinal plants, look no further. A side from the espectacular setting, at the Way Inn,the amazing food and lodge, the quality of the shamanic work done here is beyond expectations. When you attend these ceremonies and go beyond your perceptions, comfort zones etc. that is when the guidance and support of the shaman comes in handy. I have worked with Alex in several ceremonies and I must say that this man’s and its staff level of commitment and seriousness makes an enormous difference in this very big undertaking. It is at that very moment when the medicine of the plants, the shaman’s and your own work come into play. I have nothing but a deep respect for Alex and this place. I have been here twice already and hopefully will return. Gustavo

      Ayahuasca retreat

I attended an Ayahuasca retreat led by Alex and was really really impressed. I have attended other retreat centers before and got a lot out of them but this was far and away the deepest experience I have had. Alex has an intimate knowledge of the plants and the process that one undergoes throughout a retreat. He was supportive, caring and brought deep wisdom and guidance to the journey. So much gratitude to Alex and the Way Inn!!

To think that a place like this exists

It is really hard to properly explain how loving, competent and caring the staff at the way inn truly is, but i will give it a try. Alex, the builder, owner and head shaman at the way inn is a terrific guy. His compassion, love and desire to help the attendants is admirable, and combined with his expert competence in the shamanic ways, we have a recipe for great healing. Powerful medicine, and a very strong shaman gave me both physical and emotional healing, as well as a lot of insights. The lodge with the surrounding area is probably the most peaceful and beautiful place I have ever been, high up in the Andes mountains. The buildings are carefully crafted with love and dedication, just as the area outside with ponds and gentle streams of melted ice from the mountain peaks. The rooms are spacious and luxurious with very nice tiled bathrooms (the toilets can flush toilet paper unlike the rest of Peru) and comfortable beds. All the rooms have a fireplace and all the firewood you need to warm your bones in the chilly evenings. The food is both super healthy and very good in spite of the strict ayahuasca dieta. They grow a lot of the food themselves on the property. Very impressive! The staff is also simply wonderful. They are all super loving and friendly, really helpfull and a joy to be around. They all really helped to lift my stay at the way inn to the next level. The view is simply breathtaking. The price for this retreat is a bit high compared to a lot of other jungle retreats, but I promise you it is worth every single penny. Did I mention the lack of mosquitoes? A big thanks to Alex and his wonderful team. I truly appreciate the work you are doing! Hope to see you again soon.

      Best Ayahuasca Retreat

This place has the perfect combination of it being an small enough venue so every participant gets individual attention. The accommodation and food are modern, clean, and good. Alex Good, the shaman is extremely knowledgable and godly proficient in the ceremonies he conducts. I've been to The Way Inn twice now in two years. I recommend it to anyone who seeks a great, authentic, reliable, safe, and enlightening experience.

Want to do an Ayahuasca healing retreat?

If so, I would definitely recommend "The Way Inn" as the place to do it. I immediately felt welcomed by the aura of love, compassion and acceptance that the whole place, the shaman and the staff radiated. The program was really a lot more than just doing Ayahuasca. The dieta, tree bark, tobacco cleanse, Ayahuasca and San Pedro hike, combined with all the knowledge one receives, is really as good as I could possibly expect from a 12-day healing retreat. The shaman, Alex Good, the staff, the place and the food was all really amazingly awesome. This Shaman is really worth every penny. I personally have only been to one Ayahuasca retreat, but after having been through 5 ceremonies with lady Aya and having a meeting with Mr San Pedro, I feel that a good shaman who knows his stuff is really priceless if one wants to dive into one's issues and let go of old baggage in an as comfortable and safe way as possible (don't get me wrong, the healing of Ayahuasca can be pretty hard, but I feel that for the medicine to work at its best, trust and faith in the shaman is a huge factor for how much resistance one puts up. To feel the power, presence and understanding of one's shaman in one's surroundings, really makes one go the extra steps in the healing process, at least that's my opinion). The one on one talks really helped the process along as well. The conversations unfolded naturally and I feel that the communication we had were just right in regard to my key issues. I had a strange feeling (still have) of getting exactly what I needed at the exactly right time to make huge leaps in the healing work. Even things that I didn't really grasp in the talks showed themselves in the ceremonies, and I saw that it was just the way it had to be for me to grasp them xD. Everything was truly perfect (still is). I feel I have now a much larger understanding for the three-legged chair analogy. Where the legs represents: 1) Power of the shaman 2) Power of the medicine 3) Power of the participant My heartfelt advice too everyone who are going to heal with Ayahuasca, please do not underestimate the importance of the "Power of the shaman", that including feeling trust and faith in the shamanic skills and the shaman's ability to see your struggles, ready to lend individually directed support when needed. It really enhances "Power of the participant", which again enhances "Power of the medicine". Making "the chair" a good and stable one, enabling the greatest of healing to take place, and healing is what its all about right? I am looking forward to maybe join in on a retreat in spring 2018 with my Ayahuasca virgin girlfriend (lol). Maybe we'll see you there! :D

      Powerful Trip!!!

The Ayahuasca Retreat offered by The Way Inn is a transformative experience! It is not easy ride but very powerful! You are guided and helped by wonderful, loving and experienced Shaman Alex. The place has beautiful rooms, friendly stuff, fantastic food, breath taking view and very high energy - perfect for healing process! I've received more time, help, guidance and healing than the retreat schedule allowed. I felt that my personal journey was important for Shaman and the stuff and I am highly grateful for that! I am not in the pain anymore, I found peace and joy! I couldn't do it with sincere Alex's dedication! Thank You! I highly recommend this place as a safe, well organized and loving environment where it is easy to open up and deal with your unconsciousness demons.

      Enlightening and healing

I had an amazing retreat, Alex the Master Shaman is not only a Powerful Shaman but he had also trained for many years in Buddhist and Vedic meditation techniques and practices. His one on one assistance when I was going through a difficult time was insightful and healing. The individual session pointed me in the right direction for greater wisdom and healing. The meditations and group circles deepened my understanding, I feel like a new woman! The food was fabulous, the staff friendly and very helpful. The tranquility and stillness of the location is beautiful, the Andes mountains surround the lodge and the energy of the place is very special. Thank you! I will be back!

Deep Internal Cleaning in High Vibration Environ

What a place. If you are looking for ayahuasca look no further. However this place is much more than ayahuasca, and you will receive guidance as to how to contextualize and give body to your experience. I recommend inquiring for up to a month stay: I wish I had stayed for a longer duration than the standard 10 days. Please consider a longer stay.

      Ayahuasca retreat

Visiting The Way Inn was by far the most beneficial trip I have ever taken. My trip there in August has made a profound impact on my life. Working with ayahuasca is no walk in the park and I wouldn't recommend trying it if you're not in a safe and comfortable environment. The Way Inn provided exactly that for me. When I arrived at The Way Inn, I immediately felt welcomed and cared for. The rooms were really cozy and well kept, the food was always delicious and prepared with lots of love, and most of all, the staff was amazing. Within just a few hours of being at The Way Inn, I felt very comfortable and cared for by the staff. They were literally with me and all the other guests every step of they way...before, during and after ceremonies and they continue to support and guide me through anything I need since I've been back home these past 3 months. I couldn't have imagined working with ayahuasca at any other center. I will definitely be going back to The Way Inn in the near future.

      Just Perfect

Can’t say enough good things about The Way Inn, I definitely highly recommend. Me and my sister ended up staying a total of 17 days in October ’15 and I can confidently say that our experience was above par. From the breathtaking mountain setting to 5 stars spotless accommodations and top notch good food from their own organic gardens, everything was just perfect in providing a peaceful and loving haven to facilitate our (often challenging) process with ayahuasca and tobacco medicines (..on the other hand, San Pedro was quite nice ;) But more than that, it is the amazing staff that binds it all together to make it so special. Always greeting us with genuine smiles while being wonderfully supportive and helpful with anything we needed during our stay, there is no question that they love what they do by the way it is expressed through their work. Whether referring to the shamanic team, cooking/cleaning staff or permanent/rotating operating staff, all put care in what they do in order to see you leave in a much better way than you came in. It was clear to us that they had our best interest at heart from beginning to end and it is this kind of intention/attention that makes all the difference. The Way Inn family will always hold a special place in our hearts and we hope to return one of these days.

      A Life Changing Experience

I recently went to a retreat at The Way Inn--Holistic Healing Centre during the last week of April and 1st week of May in 2015. Based on my experiences there, I absolutely recommend the The Way Inn as a positive, life affirming, and life changing retreat experience. The healing plants used and their medicine were taken seriously and respectfully, and the retreat environment and culture promoted reflection, relaxation, and creativity. The shaman and energy healer turned out to be exceptional people that held the energy of the group in ceremony in a way that encouraged me to feel both safe and responsible for what I experienced. The rest of the staff also proved to be amazing people, and I instantly felt at home with them--even though I was very far from home at the base of the Andes Mountains in Peru!. The scenery and elemental feel of the environment there in Peru amazed and invigorated me every day I stayed at The Way Inn. The accommodations were superb with immaculate, comfortable rooms and beautifully presented food--even when adhering to the rigorous Dieta. When I was at The Way Inn, I felt that everything I did, such as following The Dieta, meditating on my experiences, practicing yoga, and participating in ceremony was done in a purposeful manner to gain clarity, perspective, and energy--what I might refer to as loving radiance. I could not have attained such clarity, perspective, and loving radiance without the vision, assistance and support of the people at The Way Inn--Holistic Healing Centre. It was an experience that changed my life in many positive ways, and I feel very blessed to have gone to The Way Inn. Sincerely, Terry M.

A Deep and Transformative Experience to Last A Life Time

I recently attended a 10 day retreat at the Way Inn from 4/26/15-5/5/15. In preparation, I studied their recommended diet and found a 12-day detox diet and herbal supplement program that nearly matched their recommendations. It was called Wild Rose Herbal D-Tox ("Easy 12-Day Program and Recommended Diet"). I also increased my meditation practice to twice daily to heighten my meditative state while there. I finished the detox a day prior to flying to Peru from the West Coast, and found the transition to their "Dieta" quite easy to adapt to, and found this pre-detox served me well during the ceremonies to follow. When my good friend and I first arrived, the staff were all out to give us a personal greeting. It was nice to meet everyone that way, exchanging handshakes and eye-contact. I immediately felt an energetic connection, and knew I was in good and safe hands. The Shaman (Ryan), and Energetic Worker (Adrian) radiated such great energy, and each of the staff were attentive and seemed to go out of their way to make us feel welcome and genuinely accepted throughout our stay. The accommodations are five star; rooms are clean, bedding comfortable, fully equipped bathrooms right by the ceremonial hut (and even help to get there if you need it), food made with care (even when on the Dieta, food is presented with beauty), and the views of the surrounding high plateau and snowy peaks of the Andes are stunning. For me, each ceremony was deep and transformative. I especially loved the individualized blessings the Shaman gave each of us during each ceremony, and the private healing session with the Energy Healer. There were no extra costs for these individualized services, and I cannot say enough about the unconditional acceptance, compassion, and caring that the staff provided (in ceremony and out). My friend and I were originally set up for a retreat in Iquitos, but this fell through two weeks before we were to leave. We felt, and still do, so very fortunate to have found the Way Inn. The Altar (or Mesa) even has a picture of Sri Ramana Maharshi and there are tapestries of Shiva in the Ceremonial Yurt. The Shamans sing both traditional Shamanic Chants in addition to a variety of Sacred Mantras, giving the Way Inn a heightened feeling of being deeply spiritually connected to the highest spiritual traditions. I cannot recommend The Way Inn high enough. Of the many meditation and spiritual retreats in my life that I have attended, The Way Inn ranks #1. I was taken deeper in many regards than ever before, and was left with a heightened sense of my life purpose and a feeling of interconnectedness that I will be forever thankful for.

  •   They are not interested in money, it's a donation based retreat - by Kundalini Shaman

Hello, I'm back from my ayahuasca retreat in Peru and would like to share my experience. I went with Ayahuasca Satsangha - the Way Inn. They are very serious people, into the work of expanding your consciousness. Its a very hard retreat not ayahuasca tourism in any way. The retreat is in a beautiful mountain lodge high in the Andes near Huaraz. They recognize that eastern knowledge is very complementary to ayahuasca so daily yoga, qui gong, meditation and pranayama and satsang are given, also Ayurvedic consultation and consultation with the curandero.

Thank you!

We're glad you've joined our retreat community. See you around :)
