The Challenge of Now: 7 Days of Mindfulness

About This Event

The Challenge of Now is a week-long livestream meditation challenge created by Copper Beech Institute. It is designed to help you discover the deep reservoir of resilience, courage, and compassion within you. Whether you are new to meditation or seek to revitalize and deepen your practice, we warmly encourage you to join others across the globe who share a collective commitment to transforming our lives and the world through awareness and compassion.

How it WorksOnce, you sign up for the challenge, you’ll receive an email with further instructions, including a live link to the sessions. For seven days, each session will be streamed live at XXXXX and will also be recorded so you can listen at your convenience. Each session will include 20 minutes of meditation, poetry, teaching on a theme, and opportunity for questions. Each session will last about 45 minutes and include curated articles from our blog with insights from our teachers.

All Are WelcomeThe Challenge of Now is designed to inspire and support people of all backgrounds. No prior meditation experience is necessary. The interconnectedness of fellow seekers joining together to cultivate peace, ease, and compassion is at the heart of our healing mission at Copper Beech Institute.

Choose What You Pay: Your Practice Supports Theirs

There is no required fee to participate in The Challenge of Now. That said, your donation makes it possible for us to share life-saving resilience and mindfulness skills with some of the bravest and most vulnerable members of our community. Such individuals include veterans, people who are experiencing homelessness, survivors of trauma, the incarcerated, people in recovery from addiction, and the frontline professionals who support them. In the past year, our mindfulness teachers have been honored to witness the courage of nearly 4,000 recipients of social services and the professionals who support them. In so doing, our teachers help community members transform their challenges into growth, strength, and service through mindfulness practice.

Register for $24 $24 supports a trauma survivor to attend a mindful healing group each week.

Register for $52$52 supports our local incarcerated community with an hour of mindfulness teaching. Register for $113 $113 supports mindfulness-based resilience training for a front line social service professionals who serves the most vulnerable communities.Register for $375 $375 supports a veteran to attend a weekend retreat on healing trauma.Register for $1130$1130 supports 10 hours of mindfulness-based addiction recovery services.

    As always Holy Family/ Copper Beach ALWAYS exceeds my expectations. Do yourself a favor, ATTEND a RETREAT, you will be hooked.

      Harvest Celebration 2018

    As always, a delightful evening!. Thoughts: 1. May want to publish an agenda in future. Not wise to be fashionably late. Reports were that the event was in full swing at 6:30 PM and 6:45 arrival felt like we were catching up. 2. Would be wise to provide the wifi information so everyone could connect for the text fundraiser. Verizon worked but several people near me said that they could not connect using ATT. The wifi would allow everyone to connect See you next year!!

      A Magical Place

    The Copper Beech Institute offers a wide variety of courses, meditations, workshops and is housed on a beautiful peace of property. I enjoy the Wednesday Candlelight Meditation as a group or 30-40 of us meet to share this mindful experience and are led by the incredible Miranda who always gives a talk that seems to hit home. This place is filled with such love and kindness. Go check it out!

    Kate is everything you would want in a mindfulness/yoga teacher. Her years of training and experience shine through, as well as her heartfelt approach. You will not regret any class or retreat you take with Kate!

      Memorable

    I've been on retreat twice now with Kate as the leader, coordinator, and Mindfullness Instructor. Both locations thoughtfully selected - serene, beautiful - with good optional excursions providing a full, balanced experience. Food good, healthy, plentiful! The groups are 20 or less folks, mostly women but men too. Kate has years of experience as health care provider, yoga and mindfulness instructor and is attune to the needs of the group so can adjust as necessary. Likes to laugh (even at herself), has good sense of humor, and goes with what the universe presents! I often return in my mind to our retreats, and use the lessons in my daily life. Another bonus is her yoga colleague providing anatomy, balls, and philosophy for all levels of practitioners. Everything is provided lightly, with good humor and gratitude for the shared experience. Memorable!!!

      You Will Love Her!

    I have both co-taught with, and been a student of, Kate Mitcheom. I loved doing both. She brings all the wisdom, savvy, humor, integrity, energy, enthusiasm, and open-heartedness that allowed her to steadfastly bring both mindfulness and excellent prenatal care to inner city teen girls for many years, to her mindfulness classes and retreats. She makes me laugh, she makes me think, she inspires me. I love spending time with her, and learning from her, and I bet you will, too.
