Five Day Holiday Retreat

About This Event

Everyone is welcome, beginner or advanced. We will offer instruction as needed.

Bring your own sack lunch and beverage. There is a small frig and microwave for your use. Hot tea will be on hand.

Our political situation, climate, situation, and perhaps your personal situation have taken their toll on most of us, and hopefully we’ve been baring it well, considering. Let’s experience spending time and quietude with ourselves, making space for whatever arises in mind and practicing letting go of the opinions, preferences, righteousness, and struggles of all kinds that have come up for us this year. This is not a purge. It’s the practice of becoming more and more open so that these things don’t take up all our room. We can find plenty of space for all the many heartful, beautiful, and cheerful aspects of life. Many of the things that we don’t like will not be going away and if they do, they will be replaced by other things. Let’s get bigger.

In general each day will consist of sitting and walking meditation, lujong exercises, constructive rest period, outside walking, silent lunch (bring your own), and teacher talk.

If you have done a retreat before, you know from experience that the first day or two are the most difficult. As we slow down and let go more and more, we learn what it means to settle our minds and let go of the expectations we tend to bring to a retreat. It will take you as long as it does. That said, if you have just a little time to devote to yourself in this way, do whatever you can do.

Venue Highlights

Meditation is for everyone.

We all have a body, so we nourish it, and exercise to keep it healthy.  Our minds need the same kind of attention and care.  Meditation training allows our mind to focus, relax and open.  This is how we join our head, heart and life.
