Venue HighlightsChole Mjini offers unique tree house accommodation on Chole Island in the heart of the Mafia Island Marine Park. The property has a dive centre.
The partly open and thatched tree houses are locally crafted and offer magnificent sea views. Each comes with a balcony, seating area and mosquito net. The bathrooms are fitted with a shower. Extras include a safety deposit box, free laundry and morning tea or coffee delivered.
At Chole Mjini you will find a garden and a bar. An array of activities can be enjoyed on-site or in the surroundings, including diving, snorkelling and whale encounters.
AccommodationsChole Mjini is one of the most original small lodges that we know in East Africa. It stands on Chole Island, just off the coast of Mafia Island, which is a peaceful and charming hideaway in an area that sees little tourism. The lodge was built to be environmentally sound and to give real benefits to the local community. Built among 19th-century ruins, it's all quite Indiana Jones: the ultimate eco-lodge, built before the term became so commonplace.
