About This Event
The retreat will be held at Villa De Zoysa, a beautiful beachside colonial mansion with large pool, expansive gardens and a poolside yoga Shala. Nourish and revitalise your body with twice daily Yoga and a dazzling array of homemade Sri Lankan dishes. Time spent on the grounds of Villa de Zoysa — resting in a hammock, wandering through the 4 acre garden, curling up with a book on one of the terraces, or sipping freshly brewed tea in an open courtyard — is deliciously restorative. And just a few minutes to the vast, unspoilt stretch of tropical paradise beach. A chance to learn to surf, or to catch some perfect waves if you're already a pro.
Morning Yoga practise will be a creative, dynamic vinyasa flow. Evening practise will be Yin Yoga, floor based long held meditative postures, blissful sunset meditation and Yoga Nidra, the sacred yoga of sleep.
The retreat will be a chance to delve deeper into your practise if you are an experienced practitioner or a chance to begin a yoga journey if you are an aspiring yogi. All levels are welcome.

Venue HighlightsAll of the rooms are beautifully designed and keeping with the theme and style of the rest of the house are furnished with period antiques. In Villa de Zoysa each room benefits from views overlooking the luscious garden with the breeze traveling up from the ocean. Enjoy the simple elegance of crisp white linen in every room.
The food is exceptional and the resident head chef has worked at the villa for 35 years! It is the classic family cooking tradition of secret recipes which continues to this day. The food is sourced locally from the markets from their own garden. Emphasis is on a healthy, mainly vegetarian diet. Breakfast, usually taken after morning yoga session, is a dazzling array of fresh tropical fruits by the plateful, eggs of your choice, fresh curd with coconut treacle. Plus the widely popular and much loved coconut roti, preserves and a choice of local teas and freshly squeezed juices. Dinner is a sumptuous rice and curry affair, using a variety of at least five vegetables, together with dhal and rice. Locally caught fish can be served for non-vegetarians. It is possible to join cooking classes and learn the fine art of using the traditional spices and herbs.
AccommodationsThere are 4 large Premium Rooms and 5 Standard Rooms. Depending on your requirements most of the rooms can be single, double or triple share. All bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, large comfortable beds, mosquito nets, and ceiling or standing fans. Premier rooms have balconies and very high ceilings.

Menu/CuisineThe villa states that the best rice and curry dinner and the breakfast of a similar status restaurant in the entire island are served by them. Their secret is that their chef walked in as a young 23 year old caretaker, but is now a 57 year old grandfather!
It is the classic family cooking tradition of secret recipes which continues to this day.
The kitchen staff visit vegetable markets almost on a daily basis for fresh supplies, other than sourcing from their own garden and the village. You are invited to join a cooking class and learn the fine art of using the traditional spices and herbs.
Emphasis is on a healthy, mainly vegetarian diet.

A variety of at least five vegetables, together with dhal and rice is the favourite among many clients. Locally caught fish can be served for non-vegetarians. A mouth-watering fruit salad or honey-flavoured bananas are the preferred deserts.

DirectionsThe nearest airport is Bandaranaike International Airport, close to the capitol, Colombo. It is approx 2 hours by taxi.
