Om Waters Floating Retreat Center ~ situated in a remote location within the Sri Lanna National Park north of Chiang Mai, Thailand

Course is open to everyone without any pre-requisite.

Event Highlights ~

Thai massage General - Advanced

David Roma will teach and choreograph Thai massage with detailed instructions.

You will learn to give a Thai massage with precision using acupressure, proper body mechanics, passive assisted stretching, flowing transitions, breath awareness, loving compassion and the presence of slowness.

Certificate with 30 NCBTMB CE & course manual

There will be free personal time for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, hammock chilling, playing or just being in the moment with nature.

Your experience ~

Transportation to and from Chiang Mai, cost of meals, accommodations for seven nights, all classes and park entry fee included.

Accommodations in shared space “rustic chic” style

Fresh vegetarian meals prepared by amazing cooks at Cat’s in CM

The Journey ~

Transportation location to retreat will meet in the heart of the Old City at Wawee Coffee House in Chiang Mai to board our transport (Van or Sangthaew). Exact meeting time will be announced.

The journey to Sri Lanna National Park will be about 1 hour. Then we’ll transfer onto a Long-tail boat to take a beautiful 20 minute ride to reach our destination Om Waters.

(Transportation to Thailand not included)

Teacher Bio ~

David Roma first discovered Traditional Thai Massage while on assignment piloting for a prominent communication company in the mid 1990’s. Based in Bangkok, flying a private jet, David began teaching yoga within the city limits. It was then that he began to experience Thai massage as a healing modality to the body and a blissful state of well being. In 1999 David began training at Wat Po Traditional Thai Massage School in Bangkok and continues to practice with leading teachers from around the world. David is an experienced traditional Thai massage practitioner & instructor and National Board Certified Massage Therapist.

The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) is an independent, private, nonprofit organization founded in 1992. The mission of NCBTMB is to define and advance the highest standards in the massage therapy and bodywork profession. In support of this mission, NCBTMB serves the profession through Board Certification, Approved Providers, and Assigned Schools.

Metta (loving kindness) is at the root of David’s teaching. He works with presence and emphasizes the importance of slowing down and breathing with each movement. This allows the receiver to fully let go and receive.

Accommodations

Om Waters provides comfortable lodging with 20 twin beds. The ground floor holds 12 beds, and the upper level also holds 8 beds. Every two beds are separated by a partition to create a "berth." All berths are equipped with: mosquito nets, linen and towels, nightstand, and full lake views.

Across the shala, there is a house with two rooms. One room is reserved for the kitchen staff and caretaker, and the other room is available for a retreat leader.
