Intimacy with Body: A Path to Liberation
About This Event
In this weekend practice retreat of Vipassana meditation, we’ll explore our connection to impermanence through the Four Foundations of Mindfulness and the natural world. Cultivating a new, or deepening an existing intimate relationship with the body, will support this deeper knowing. This retreat is open to folks at all levels and will culminate with a sense of connection to ourselves, each other, and the natural world, along with tools to practice during this holiday season and beyond.
This retreat will be held in noble silence during the morning practice periods, opening up into relational practice and practice in nature (weather permitting) in the afternoons.
Noble silence and the five precepts for ethical conduct (protecting life, generosity, mindful of speech, protecting the sexuality of self and others, and freeing ourselves of intoxicants that cloud the heart and mind), will be observed to support this practice-based weekend.
*Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move and sit in.
What you can expect from this weekend:
We will move towards cultivating a more loving and intimate relationship to our bodies through embodied wisdom practices that are rooted in trauma-informed and accessibility practices.
We will deepen our understanding of our interconnectedness to the natural world, by practicing in nature (weather permitting).
Will explore practice through using all of the sense doors that are accessible to us
We will learn and explore the practice Vipassana meditation through the four postures of sitting, standing, walking and lying down
Will have an understanding of impermanence that will liberate the heart and mind
We will leave this retreat with an understanding of how to carry these practices into our daily lives.

As always, a delightful evening!. Thoughts: 1. May want to publish an agenda in future. Not wise to be fashionably late. Reports were that the event was in full swing at 6:30 PM and 6:45 arrival felt like we were catching up. 2. Would be wise to provide the wifi information so everyone could connect for the text fundraiser. Verizon worked but several people near me said that they could not connect using ATT. The wifi would allow everyone to connect See you next year!!

The Copper Beech Institute offers a wide variety of courses, meditations, workshops and is housed on a beautiful peace of property. I enjoy the Wednesday Candlelight Meditation as a group or 30-40 of us meet to share this mindful experience and are led by the incredible Miranda who always gives a talk that seems to hit home. This place is filled with such love and kindness. Go check it out!
