  • Bliss out this summer with a special yoga retreat at the beautiful In Sabina estate in Umbria, Italy. Relax and recharge with expertly guided yoga and meditation classes, incredibly delicious organic food and enough free time to truly let yourself go. In Sabina has a welcoming and magical environment that is the perfect place to blend good health with good living.


Margherita will lead you through every step of this retreat with her unique combination of experience and care. All sessions will be adapted to the group and modifications of the poses will be offered to cater for all participants and to ensure that everyone is receiving the benefits of the practice and individual attention.
There will be a morning and an evening practice each day. The morning sessions are invigorating and cleansing for the mind and body, and the evening practise incorporates meditation, yoga nidra and relaxation. Two half days or one full day off mid week to explore the beautiful Sabine hills and sightseeing the historic Italian hilltowns nearby.
Depending on the energetics of the class some mornings we will have a light fruit snack before yoga and brunch after practice. Similarly on the excursion days we will change meal schedules to enable free time.
Come a day early early or leave late to spend an extra day exploring Rome, Spoleto, Orvieto, Siena and Assisi (only 45 minutes to 2 hours away)

About This Event


This yoga retreat is led by Margherita Dal Pra, the founder of YogaM. Margherita is a very experienced yoga and meditation teacher with 14 years of teaching experience. Her classes are a synthesis of Anusara bio-mechanical principles of alignment, along with heart-centered themes and the lineage and depth of knowledge of Tantric Hatha energetics in the Para Yoga® style. This yoga retreat is open to all ages and levels of fitness and experience. Every session will have attention to detail (alignment), awareness of breath (pranayama), openness to grace (attitude) and intelligent sequencing (vinyasa krama). The morning yoga classes will be more upbeat and energizing, and the afternoon classes more relaxed.

All sessions will be adapted to the group and modifications of the poses will be offered to cater for all participants and to ensure that everyone is receiving the benefits of the practice and individual attention.


Our weekend will begin on Friday evening at 6.00 pm with a gentle asana practice and the deep relaxation of yoga nidra, followed by dinner at 8.00 pm.After breakfast on Saturday, we will practise from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm (asana, pranayama and meditation). After lunch you will be free to explore the gardens or the countryside, or just to chill out. Our afternoon class will be from 5.00 to 7.00 pm, and will introduce more pranayama and meditation techniques. Saturday dinner will be at 7.30 pm. Sunday morning’s class will be from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, and will again incorporate asana, pranayama and meditation. Lunch will follow with farewell.

Set in 42 acres of private land, this beautiful retreat space is encircled by seven hundred acres of ancient forest. Sustainability and comfort are at the forefront of the 42 acres vision, with reclaimed materials used to outfit the interiors of the property, plus all of the power is renewable and self generated through biomass and solar.


Accommodation options range from dormitories to twin’s and single rooms (ensuite options available) with luxury linen and towels provided. The centre has several communal spaces including a library and a meeting and reading space.


Resident head chef Mark Mabon is as passionate about foraging and sourcing local, ethical and sustainable ingredients as he is about whipping them up into tasty and innovative dishes. While vegetables and plants are seen as the centre of the plate and most of the retreats follow a vegetarian menu, the food at 42 Acres takes an all-inclusive approach. The property prides itself on supporting small-scale artisan growers and organic produce, with a passionate focus on wholesome, honest and delicious food. Raw cheese, fresh sourdough, the chef’s own sauerkraut and digestion-boosting kimchi feature alongside other health-giving dishes such as beetroot and sprouted sunflower-seed pâté, polenta toasts and raw chocolate mousse. A warm glass of comforting turmeric milk is the perfect way to round off the day before bed.

If you do want to go further afield then Frome is a pretty nearby town that’s steeped in history and quintessentially English – head to Nunney Castle ((contact info blocked)) and then onto Sam’s Kitchen Deli ((contact info blocked)) for mouth-watering wood-fired pizza or the River House ((contact info blocked)) for hearty riverside fare. You’ll also find the exceptional Talbot Inn ((contact info blocked)) nearby in Mells, which offers a stylish take on the British pub experience. And if art is your passion, put the Hauser & Wirth gallery ((contact info blocked)) in Bruton on your list, with a lunchtime stop at the beautiful, light-filled At The Chapel ((contact info blocked)) for delicious, seasonal food.

Lovely Marghe, I can’t express fully how lovely this week at the Locanda was for me. To think that just a year ago I turned up at In Sabina without knowing any of you is crazy. Venue Highlights

Prepare to be completely enchanted every day by the gorgeous rolling hills of the Umbrian countryside during your summer yoga retreat in Italy.

The In Sabina estate is located in the heart of the Sabine hills, only an hour from Rome – but a world away from the hustle of the city. Two beautifully restored 17th century stone buildings overlook an incredible panorama of olive groves and fruit trees, as well as lush gardens, a pond and swimming pool. There are three terraces with stunning views for relaxing and watching the amazing sunsets every night.

Within the grounds next to the olive groves there is a gorgeous and spacious open-air yoga platform designed by the architect Marco Antonini, with stunning & panoramic views of the rolling Italian landscape. There is also a second indoor converted yoga room, with large windows over looking the hills & trees.

The surrounding area is rich in medieval Italian history as well as natural beauty. Guests can enjoy visits to Torri, an ancient village with barely 1000 residents only 3km away, and the charming hilltop town of Casperia, only 10 minutes drive from the yoga retreat center.

The setting is rustic but magical, peaceful and quiet. An ideal place for spiritual practice.


At In Sabina you will find a lovely arrangement of beautiful rooms set in acres of lush groves of olive trees, fresh fruit trees, flowers, and all the beauty the Italian landscape has to offer. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, most of them with shared bathrooms. Several single rooms are available, at additional cost.

The region has long been famous for its quality food and drink; the olive oil is even considered to be one of the best in the world. In Sabina is featured in the Taschen publication ‘Great Yoga Retreats’!

I firmly believe that your yoga practice should be supported by delicious and wholesome food. The mouth watering vegetarian meals cooked by our local chef, are cooked using local produce. You will sample some of the traditional recipes of Italy as well as raw and alkalising meals and some comfort food too. You will be served fresh, healthy, incredibly delicious organic vegetarian food. Schedule may vary slightly but usually there will be a substantial brunch and dinner every day, apart from Friday when the group will enjoy an evening out to a local restaurant. Fruit will be available before morning yoga for those who need a little something and a snack mid afternoon. They can cater for gluten free, dairy free and vegan but not for dislikes and not necessarily for more unsual dietary restrictions so do enquire before booking if this relates to you. You will be surprised on how strong and healthy you will feel by the end of the week. For the same reason the retreat is strictly alcohol free and we strongly ask you to respect that by not bringing any wine or spirit at the venue nor in your bedroom and to not encourage others.
