About This Event

With the blessings of the plant world and the Maestra we are offering our third Master Plant Dieta held in the Shipibo-Konibo tradition to help those ready for the next step on their path of personal growth and transformation.

For Manuela, healing and learning are interconnected through the respected practice of isolation and meditation with specific dietary and energetic restrictions. This is known as samá in the Shipibo-Konibo language and is commonly referred to as dieta. If you are called to work with plant consciousness in a profoundly deep and traditional manner, we welcome you to journey with us in May 2020 in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon.

WE HOLD SMALL GROUPS TO ALLOW MORE PERSONALIZED WORK. THERE ARE ONLY 5 OPENINGS FOR THIS RETREAT.

Our NÓYA RÁO PLANT SPIRIT RETREAT offers Traditional Master Plant Dietas for anyone seeking profound healing and deep communion with nature. It is ideal for both beginners and the experienced who value a tightly held sacred space in order to safely open to the mysteries of the plant kingdom and fully immerse themselves in the healing power of the Nóya Ráo tree. Our intention with this retreat is to stay true to the traditional ways of dieting while providing the most comfort for participants during their stay in the natural environment of the Amazon jungle.

PLEASE CONTACT US FOR MORE DETAILED INFORMATION OR CHECK OUT sama sanctuary .co / psr

Venue Highlights

We will be staying at La Perla, a small private jungle lodge with simple cabins and a small maloca (ceremonial round house) near the city of Pucallpa on the shores of the Yarinacocha Lagoon, home to many species of birds, frogs and monkeys. Be prepared for encounters of all kinds of jungle creatures, our favorite are the sweetest of all, the hummingbirds! ♡

La Perla is a peaceful sanctuary situated on 50 acres of thriving Amazonian forest land which is run and owned by a native Shipibo-Konibo family. La Perla is very basic with no electricity and no internet. A generator will be run for one hour after sunset to charge your phone in case you need to use it to take notes, make recordings or as a flashlight after dark.

The Lodge is accessed by boat about 20 minutes from the port of Yarina.

Accommodations

All rooms are basic, private & spacious and come with single beds and mosquito nets. Any room or tambo (bungalow) can be turned into a double room if you wish to share, although this is not recommended, as you will benefit the most from your time in dieta by staying in your own energy without any distractions.

All single bungalows have a private bathroom.
The bungalow with two private rooms has a shared bathroom.
The private rooms in the main house have a shared bathroom.

We usually reserve the single bungalows for those who stay for longer periods.

  • Ceremony Space

Menu/Cuisine

Nóya Ráo requires a 23 hour fast that starts after lunch on ceremony days until lunch time the following day, for the entire duration of the samá, which allows us to enjoy two (on Sundays three) freshly prepared meals per day that follow the dietary restrictions of your master plant:

On days of ceremony: 8 am breakfast and 12 pm lunch
On days of rest after ceremony: 12 pm lunch and 5 pm dinner
On Sundays: 8 am breakfast, 12 pm lunch and 5 pm dinner

Our cook goes to the local market every morning to buy fresh produce. All meals are prepared with the best local ingredients and will be mostly vegetarian, on some days with river fish or organic chicken. We strictly avoid processed sugar, salt, vinegar, oil, dairy, pork, red meat and alcohol.

If you have any special dietary requirements, please advise us upon receiving confirmation of your reservation.

Directions

We recommend arriving in Pucallpa 1 - 2 days before your retreat begins to give yourself enough time to rest and adjust. You will be picked up at our meeting point in Pucallpa at 11 am on DAY 1 of your retreat. The journey to our retreat location takes about 30 minutes by moto-taxi and boat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To find peace and renewal while going through a huge change in my life. Empty nest and the end of a 27 year marriage all at once. Susan
