About This Event

Sacred Valley Pilgrimage 2020

This 11 day soul nourishing pilgrimage to the Sacred Valley of Peru will be a ceremonial and initiatory journey into the Heart of the Andean wisdom traditions. It is a precious opportunity to create a more alive and awakened connection to the ancient, yet every new, wisdom of the Andes. The Andean healing traditions offer a potent antidote to the disconnection to Earth and Soul, so prevalent in the dominant global culture. Each of us who brings healing to the disconnection in our own lives, helps to bring Healing to the collective.

This trip is also created for those of all ages and backgrounds who feel in their heart that there is a more beautiful way to live, and who wish to dive into this possibility with their whole beings.

In this 11 day odyssey of heart and spirit you will:

Receive empowerments, blessings, and teachings from Q’ero Elders and Andean Wisdom Keepers.

Journey to the ancient power sites of Cusco, Pisaq, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, Ñaupa Iglesia, and Moray to learn from indigenous wisdom keepers the knowledge of the Ancestors.

Create resonant connections with the 12 primary Mountain spirits (Apus) of the Sacred Valley.

Participate in ceremonies of direct initiatory experience with the sacred plant teacher Huachuma in a radically beautiful and safe space. You will be guided and held by experienced, kind support and loving care. Including facilitated group process, dialogue, and teachings to help each Pilgrim have a successful journey.

Have the opportunity to dive into the magic, medicine, and mysticism of Pachakuti Mesa Lineage with sanctioned teachers. This is a radically powerful way to awaken your sacred altar ground.

Stay at the beautiful and enchanting Sacha Munay retreat center. Its incredible gardens, waterfalls, and vibrant green mountains on all sides, you heart will be deeply nourished by this peaceful place. Sacha Munay offers options of medicine baths, massage, and other healing services for interested guests.

Visit the Pisac village where you will be able to access the famous Pisac Artisan markets, restaurants, and botanical gardens.

We will eat local, organic food and have fresh filtered water available throughout the entire journey. Most meals are included and can be prepared to your food needs.

Day 2- Opening Ceremonies & Energy Blessings from the Elders.

We will begin our pilgrimage with a day of ceremony. In the morning we will start our journey to the archeological center of Uno Urco, a beautiful temple dedicated to water.  Puma will discuss Andean Cosmovision and traditional Andean Healing Arts, and will guide us through rituals of welcoming and reconnecting with the ancestral spirits of the Andes. We will also work with two very special, invited healers today – Don Sebastian and Mama Irene – who will share their gifts & healing practices that will have a lasting impact on our everyday lives back home.

Don Sebastian is a Q’ero Master with pure energy and wisdom from the lineage of the Q’ero People; Mama Irene is an older medicine woman and a very powerful healer who comes from a different lineage of healers in the Peruvian Andes, closer to the rainbow lineage. Together these two healers will have a profound and lasting impact on our understanding of energy work and Andean medicine.

This full day of energy work will allow us to feel fully immersed in ancestral traditions and deepen our connection to our inner self as well as the land we are visiting. We will also learn about the concepts of Nogan Kani and Ayni. By understanding that love is always a reciprocal relationship (love for people, nature, the planet) we can reassess our relationships and how we treat ourselves and the world around us.

Day 3- Visit to the Kusi Kawsay School and Pisaq Inti Huatana Site

We will begin our day visiting the inspirational school of Kusi Kawsay where indigineous children have an opportunity to learn the wisdom of their ancestors within a Waldorf inspired model of education. We will also have the opportunity to walk through the market village of Pisaq and see many of the local artisans wares.

This is a healing ceremony of universal heart medicine, a 5000 year old medicine ceremony going back to the roots of Andean spirituality.  This medicine helps reveal the mystical world around us and brings us into a state of heightened awareness to realize our collective unity. Healing and transformation are an aspect of each and every ceremony, for each and every one of us. This beautiful, kind, and joyful medicine has a truly wonderful way of helping us to help each other and ourselves. These ceremonies are a rare opportunity to deeply transform and heal our lives and relationships. This ceremony is an opportunity to consciously address current issues in your life, find alignment and healing for the energies of the body, explore who and what we are as beings, and radically connect with the living wisdom of Mother Earth.

      Amazing People, Genuine Connection

Ancient wisdom for personal and planetary healing and creation

I have participated in many of Robin and Darcy's Visionary Hearts offerings and as a student of the lineage under which they practice, I can say without question that what they bring forward and invite others into is a not-to-miss opportunity. They have an immense depth of experience working with the sacred cactus of Huachuma and incorporate the ancient teachings and practices of the Pachakuti Mesa tradition. Their approach to this work blends deep tradition alongside curious exploration of 'what's possible'. They honor the Great Mystery and this allows for curious and open expansion of each of our unique gifts and infinite wisdom.

      Visionary Hearts Pisac Peru.

The sacred ruins above Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and the wonders of Cusco where some of the additional delights incorperated into a visionary quest lead by Darcy and Robin last year in the sweet sweet town of Pisac Peru. Darcy and Robin are dedicated ceremonialists and Pachakuti Mesa carriers. They truly embody "yanantin" the Quechua concept of a sacred pair, a complimentary union; together they hold sacred space and fun space impeccably. The trip was comfortable, we were well taken care of. The medicine ceremonies held at Hummingbird Retreat centre where deeply nurturing and the setting was awe inspiring.       Heart, Beauty & True Transformation

Along the wild-ride that has been my life, I have had the blessing of crossing paths with Darcy and Robin. From our first encounter their level of integrity, heart, and commitment to creating a more beautiful world struck a deep chord in me. When I caught wind that they would be offering a Pilgrimage to Peru, my heart rejoiced as I couldn’t think of two better guides for my first encounter with this magical land. The pilgrimage itself was wholly transformative. Robin and Darcy planned each day with meticulous love, care, and an ignited sense of adventure. I felt very safe and masterfully-held throughout the entire experience by the seen and unseen foundation these two had laid so beautifully prior to my arrival. In visiting the various sacred sites their knowledge, reverence, and passion for the Andean cultures shone through brilliantly. My experience of these powerful sites was greatly enriched by Darcy and Robin’s sharings of the various site histories, lore, and of the peoples that dwelled there many moons ago. I really appreciated how they made every conscious effort to connect us with the locals in deep and meaningful ways. We visited an elementary school, participated in beautiful despacho ceremonies with local elders and medicine carriers, and were treated to the beauty of traditional Peruvian dances and song. In this way, I did not feel like a “tourist” passing through, but a welcomed guest in a home amongst friends. In working with the medicine I found myself surrounded by unparalleled beauty. Everything from the space, to the food, to the company (did I mention the food?) was immaculate. With the level of safety and integrity present in each ceremony I was able to go deep within myself to catalyze healing that would have otherwise not been possible. The blessings, insights and gifts I received through these ceremonies continue to blossom in my life in magical and unexpected ways. It is rare indeed to find people who teach by the way they live, and live by what they teach, and that is exactly the medicine that Robin and Darcy offer. Darcy and Robin aren’t only “on the path” they are blazing a new way of being as a gift to us all. I wholeheartedly recommend them as impeccable guides and friends into the heart, lore and mystery that is Peru. Munay <3

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with myself after a very crazy few months with a new baby! Just having that feeling of being grounded again. But also having an opportunity to connect with new amazing people. Getting exposed and Inspired by new (to me) yoga instructors (and community). Being in the presence of real, authentic and raw emotion (the whole spectrum).. So many reasons! Alyson
