The Sacred Reset | A New Year's Kambo + Ayahuasca Detox Retreat

Location icon
952F+X29 Provincia de Guanacaste, Santa Cruz, Costa Rica
Users icon
Up to 12 in group
Date
January 23 - 28, 2027

Retreat Highlights

  • Sacred Reset
  • A Deep Cleanse and New Beginning Immersion
  • Three Kambo ceremonies. Two Ayahuasca ceremonies. A rapeh circle, a juicing  protocol, and somatic integration woven through every day. Six days to shed what  accumulated in 2026, reconnect to your spirit, and cross the threshold into the new year with a clear body, an open mind, and a woven intention for what comes next.
  • You don't want to carry into 2027 what you carried in 2026.
  • Something has been building. In the body, in the mind, in the places where energy should move but has gone still. You have tried to address it. You have not been able to shift it all the way through. What you are carrying has a weight to it that is physical, emotional, and mental at once.
  • Excess weight you cannot shed
  • A cloudy mind that cannot focus or decide
  • A body that feels heavy and inflamed
  • Autoimmune or chronic illness western medicine hasn't resolved
  • Stagnation and inability to choose what feels aligned
  • Fatigue, poor sleep, waking unrested
  • Inflammation you know is affecting your health
  • You are ready to remove what no longer serves you — on every level. The body has been waiting for this kind of permission.
  • The Root | Inflammation is not a symptom. It is the source.
  • Modern research increasingly confirms what indigenous healing traditions have understood for generations: chronic inflammation is at the root of the majority of illness and disease. It drives autoimmune conditions, disrupts hormonal function, clouds cognitive clarity, depletes energy, and creates the persistent heaviness in the body that no amount of diet or willpower has been able to fully resolve.
  • Kambo addresses inflammation at its physiological root. The bioactive peptides in the secretion of the Phyllomedusa bicolor frog work directly through the lymphatic and immune systems, triggering a deep purge of what the body has been holding.
  • Dermaseptins in the secretion carry demonstrated antimicrobial activity. The immune-modulating compounds activate the body's own defense mechanisms rather than suppressing them. Three sessions in close succession, the traditional initiation series, compound and consolidate this effect in a way a single session cannot.
  • Participants consistently report that the clarity, lightness, and physical energy that follow a Kambo series are categorically different from anything they have achieved through conventional approaches. That is not coincidence. It is the result of a medicine that goes to the source.
  • The Arc
  • Nervous System Reset
  • Somatic trauma-informed facilitation and the  physiological impact of Kambo work together to bring the nervous system out of a chronic stress state. Fear held in the body begins to release when the body itself is no longer carrying the accumulated weight.
  • Physical Cleanse
  • Three Kambo ceremonies in the traditional initiation series work through the lymphatic and immune systems to address
  • inflammation, remove stagnation, and restore the body's own capacity to function clearly. Juicing throughout supports the
  • detox arc.
  • Emotional Release
  • What is carried emotionally is carried somatically. As the body releases, the emotional field follows. Ayahuasca ceremony and integration work move what has been layering your spirit so that what is underneath can surface and lead.
  • Vision and Re-Weaving
  • A clear mind thinks differently than a clouded one. The final integration day is structured around naming what was released and articulating, with intention and witnesses, what you are choosing to grow. The word has power when it is spoken from a clean place.
  • K A M B O · T H R E E  C E R E M O N I E S
  • The Deep Purification
  • Kambo is applied in the traditional three-session initiation series across the first four days of the immersion. Each session builds on what the previous one opened. The acute phase, typically 15 to 40 minutes, involves a powerful physiological purge through the lymphatic and immune systems. After the purge, deep rest follows. Then, for most participants: mental clarity, emotional lightness, and physical energy that extends into the days ahead. Three sessions in close succession is how the medicine is traditionally initiated. It is not redundant repetition. It is a compounding process that consolidates the clearing the first session begins. The body responds differently by the third ceremony. What the first session loosens, the series resolves.
  • AYA H U A S C A · C E R E M O N Y  O N E
  • Yawanawa Lineage
  • The first Ayahuasca ceremony is held in the traditional way of the Yawanawa, honoring the integrity and power of the Amazonian lineage from which this medicine descends. We enter in reverence, carried by the songs and prayers of the tradition. This is not an introduction to the medicine. It is a full ceremony held in the fullness of its lineage. What Kambo has cleared, the ceremony receives and works with at depth.
  • AYA H U A S C A · C E R E M O N Y  T W O
  • The Offering
  • The second ceremony is a whole-night ceremony built on the four gates of manifestation. We walk the Mesada together, weaving a collective offering guided by the teachings, cosmovision, and spiritual influence of our indigenous elders, sustaining a shared prayer through the night and into the sunrise. This is where the shedding of what was transforms into the planting of what comes next. Releasing the old and stepping into the new: that is the purpose and the experience of this night. The Year of the Fire Horse carries its final energy into the weeks before this immersion. The Year of the Goat, beginning February 6, brings kindness, peace, creativity, and resilience. The Offering is precisely timed as an act of crossing: the last of the old year's weight is surrendered, and what grows in its place is woven by intention, witnessed in ceremony, and carried into the new year already rooted.
  • S A C R E D  T O B A C C O
  • Rapeh Circle
  • A shared rapeh circle is held as both a grounding and an opening. Sacred tobacco clears the respiratory system, focuses the mind, and connects the group to the medicine lineage. It is a moment of collective arrival before the deeper work begins.

Don’t wait
My experience at Ananda Lodge was truly life-changing. From the moment I arrived, I felt safe, welcomed, and genuinely cared for. The owners, Kimberly and Jason, along with the entire team, have created something incredibly special—a place where healing, compassion, and connection come together in the most beautiful way.

The property itself is breathtaking, surrounded by nature with peaceful ocean views that immediately calm your nervous system. Every detail, from the comfortable accommodations to the incredible fresh meals, is thoughtfully designed to support your journey.

What impressed me most was the level of care before, during, and after the ceremonies. I never felt like just another guest. I felt seen, heard, and supported every step of the way. Their trauma-informed approach allowed me to fully trust the process and surrender to the experience.

If you’re searching for a place to do deep inner work in a safe, loving, and authentic environment, I cannot recommend Ananda Lodge enough. I left with a renewed sense of peace, clarity, and gratitude that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Thank you to everyone at Ananda for creating such a beautiful sanctuary for healing. Pura Vida. ❤️🙏

63 Years Young & My First Medicine Journey
From the moment I arrived, Ananda Lodge felt like home.

The grounds are not only visually stunning, but energetically and intentionally curated to support deep healing and transformation. Every detail reflects mindfulness. From the beautiful private accommodations with indoor/outdoor showers, to the safe and nurturing maloka, nourishing aligned meals, and countless peaceful spaces for quiet reflection and integration.

Kim and Jason continue to evolve while remaining deeply grounded in their integrity and vision. That commitment is evident in every aspect of the experience, especially in the facilitators and shamans they invite to hold space.

This was my first experience with sacred medicine, and it exceeded every expectation. Michal and Emma are a truly magical team. Their wisdom, intuition, compassion, and presence allowed me to feel completely safe, deeply supported, and lovingly held throughout my entire journey.

If you are seeking a place where professionalism, integrity, safety, and genuine heart come together, I cannot recommend Ananda Lodge highly enough. It is a truly sacred space for healing, transformation, and coming home to yourself.

I left with profound gratitude... and I will absolutely be back.— Rev. Michlynn Walton Costa Rica/Canada

Mindful Microdoser Virtual Experience
This three month guided micro dose journey is a life changer for someone who is intuitively feeling that they are ready to make a change(s) in their life. I had just quit a stressful, soul-sucking job and wanted to completely switch gears and tap more into my creativity while working on my anxiety. This program is more than just the medicine, it is having a couple of individual sessions with Kimberly, who is great at listening and understanding at a deeper level. It's working within a group of other microdosers and meeting together in workshops every other week for two hours so you get learn together. The session workbooks are the best. They are full of practices and videos that combined with the medicine truly help you be the best version of yourself. I'm an introvert and thought I would rather do something alone but this program really made me the best version of myself. Dana and Kimberly are truly the best. This helped me more than years of therapy! Stephanie S.

Exceptional Property, hosts and facilitators!
**Review Title:** Exceptional Property, Hosts, and Facilitators

When I first contacted Ananda and its team, I wasn't even sure I wanted to attend a retreat. I was very undecided and not entirely clear on what I wanted to work on, other than improving my health and exploring a specific type of plant medicine.

Kimberly was incredibly patient, observant, and supportive throughout the process. She took the time to provide a variety of options and explain what each retreat and each medicine had to offer. She never prescribed or imposed her own opinion about which path she felt was best for me based on what I shared. Instead, she left the autonomy with me to decide what was right for my own journey, and I deeply respected the way she held that space.

Once I selected my retreat and arrived at the property, my first impression was that it was an absolute sanctuary. It felt like stepping into someone's imagination. The property is elegant, peaceful, and truly a piece of paradise. I could not have imagined a better setting for such a unique and meaningful experience. I was immediately greeted by the shaman and Jason, who helped me get settled and made me feel genuinely welcomed and comfortable from the moment I arrived.

As for the ceremony itself, the facilitators, the medicine, the safe container they created, and the carefully curated group of participants all contributed to an environment where I felt completely safe. That sense of safety gave me a huge invitation to fully lean into the experience and the work I had come there to do.

There was the right balance of encouragement, respect, trust, and challenge to push me beyond my comfort zone while always remaining in service of my highest good.

One of the most meaningful messages I will carry with me from this experience is this:

*I can do hard things. Nothing is permanent. When life circumstances or conditions change, I am absolutely capable and equipped to navigate them. It may not feel easy. It may not feel comfortable. Fear may be present, but none of those things define my capability.*

Thank you, Kimberly and Jason, for having the courage to create something that feels truly unique. It was very evident to me that your creativity, intention, and spirit are deeply imprinted throughout both the property and the experience. It is clear how much thought, care, and heart have gone into creating a space where people can safely do meaningful inner work.

Wishing you continued success.

Pura Vida! 🌺❤️🙏

This place is EVERYTHING ❤️❤️❤️
I cannot say enough about my experience at Ananda.

From the moment I saw their website through to the very last minute of the retreat, Ananda provided an authentic and meaningful experience that was everything I was looking for and more. They are truly committed to providing a healing space and meaningful guidance throughout your journey, which starts several weeks prior to your visit in the preparation phase, and for several weeks after your return home in the integration phase, both of which include super helpful guides and one-on-one video calls.

Kimberly, Jason, and Chase were with me every step of the way, providing a safe and nurturing space for my experience. I also can’t say enough about Camillo, who prepared healthy and DELICIOUS food that was exactly what I needed right when I needed it.

I could write a million more words and it still wouldn’t express how important this experience was for me. The whole Ananda team truly meets you where you are. I can’t wait to go back 😊❤️
